Some divisions keep things entirely too “close to the chest” when sharing of info would be more valuable.
Some old school leaders lie when they find it convenient.
*Salaries - in particular for engineers - are much higher than others. They truly favor salaried exempt (which is good) - but at the cost of some good employees who are salaried non-exempt or hourly.
*Bonuses are much, MUCH better if you’re non-exempt. They’re decent for others, but the disparity is too much. Some who do very little still get overly compensated for little to no individual contributions. Their yearly review may be less than adequate, but they’ll still get their bonuses!
Some sub-companies are treated like red headed step children.
Each site can operate in a silo, which can be challenging.
There can be a level of entitlement in the chemical division. It’s unnecessary and not often seen at the petroleum division.
