Family friendly and good work-life balance
When I worked there, the work was like other jobs I had done before in the account management side of advertising but the real differentiator was the work-life balance available at PREIT that wasn’t available in my previous agency roles.
The people were all very nice who I worked with and their care for a family-friendly environment was wonderful as I brought my son into work with me for career days and he loved it.
My time there was shorter than I would have liked as I was unfortunately part of a restructuring.

Leadership showed their true colors during COVID-19. Deep furloughs followed by permanent layoffs while not taking a salary cut themselves. Exec team also rewarded themselves with full bonuses - while applying for and accepting PPP. I thought (hoped) they may be able to turn the ship around last year, but viability of company is now in question.

Great company under old management, but now...look elsewhere.
Close, personal bonds among employees since many have worked for the company for years. Key player in the industry, so decent exposure for freshers.
Poor communication from top down and across departments. Top heavy to a fault. Boys club where cronyism and nepotism reign supreme. Lesser pay for women and minorities. Toxic managers permitted to wreak havoc in key departments.

Don’t work for PREIT at a mall
Benefits are generous, just don’t plan on using PTO Black Friday - New Years Eve
Extremely top heavy with strong focus on the corporate team in Philly. The company cares very little for the people on the front lines who are implementing their strategies and interacting with their customers daily. Teams located at the malls receive emails from corporate office that mention benefits being offered those working at headquarters with no mention addressing the needs concerns of field team.

A good stepping stone

Great marketing team at the corporate. A lot of encouragement from various members of the team. Great feedback/review process.
Old school work environment. Communicating with field marketing team could prove to be challenging at times.

VPs are petty and dysfunctional
Excellent PTO and benefits, however they do not outweigh lack of pay
The VPs are each seeking their own glory and do not work as a team towards a common goal. DM is rude and condescending to staff. VP doesn’t follow through on commitments, talks a big talk but lacks ability to implement his vision. The top heavy management micro manages the field team. Field team is here to support the VPs instead of focusing on creating an incredible shopping experience for the mall customers and merchants. Departments are compartmentalized and not encouraged to support goals and objectives of each mall, we are not empowered to make good decisions for our malls, all goals are st the whim of the VP and can change at any moment. VPs do not cooperate with each other which creates conflicting objectives between departments. Poor performance among management is protected by nepotism.

Get focused on great customer experience at the mall level. Let the field team be the priority and direct the VP team to work together to support the field.
