nyse:pii https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=985 Apr 9th, 2024 12:00AM Open Open Polaris Group Leader/Step-up Supervisor Huntsville, AL Overtime, not a place to retire from, wanna-be automotive You get good experience in production systems that mimic TPS and other tools to start your career in leadership. You will be put in plenty of difficult situations with employees on orders handed down from human resources and upper management that you have to enforce with no support from upper management, preparing yourself for a real leadership role when you ultimately choose your inner peace over working here due to the situations this company puts you in. You have the chance to work most departments because of turnover, and to move up because the good people either quit or get ran off. They are trying to run themselves 24/6 and sometimes 7 while still running 3 shift coverage. They wait until the Wednesday before the weekend to announce overtime for that weekend. Backshops have worked every weekend except holiday weekends for the past two years. They have an extremely toxic work culture that comes from upper management down, including having leaders encouraging emotional manipulation saying things to operators like "you know you were out last night, we were really short handed" and other things. Human resources are completely out of touch with us on the production floor. They lowered the top out pay 2 years ago and just now reached where they were at and act like it's a good thing. There are no performance-based raises anymore, only tenured based. Hard work is rewarded with more work and favorites are constantly played. They offer no competitive pay for supervisors on the floor and expect you to work 6 or 7 days a week with only a notice on Wednesday that overtime is scheduled. record profits are always hit for the last 3 years and the bonuses keep going lower and lower for salary and hourly, minus upper management, they get full bonuses. The people in charge do not support the culture they claim to, only wanting to make a short-term gain while making as much money as possible before heading to the next management position in the next company they drain financially. When they make offers to outside potentials, they are so low they are insulting. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 0.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 2.0 1.0 2.0 985 Open This is not the plant that started here in 2016. You have hired the rejects from the southern automotive industry and they are running this business into the ground just to maximize their profits and make their profit-sharing checks look good. You already have ruined your reputation so bad that we have to constantly bring in contractors to work here on the lines, and they give nothing to the company. Do whatever you want, but I'd suggesting getting involved before the people you trusted to run your business ruin its reputation even more. 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 9.0 Open Apr 12th, 2024 12:19PM Apr 12th, 2024 12:19PM Polaris Industries Consumer Goods Leisure Goods
nyse:pii https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=985 Apr 9th, 2024 12:00AM Open Open Polaris Supervisor Huntsville, AL Do Not Work Here. -There aren't any pro's. If you are experienced and have an education, you will be rode hard into the ground. Your hours will be stretched with weekends and holidays becoming mandatory. This will make the compensation package not make financial sense. -Also, be wary of the "perks". These can be relinquished on a moments notice by HR, without compensation reimbursement. The cons are overwhelming at this location: -Quality. If you are familiar with Six Sigma, you will have a stroke here. Process and part variation is rampant. Most units don't roll off the line complete, and are reworked out of process at an off site warehouse. The term "Lean" is thrown around very loosely. -The production schedule. Some corporate person created the build targets for this facility. Because anyone who works in the facility, knows they are impossible to attain in an 8 hour shift. The entire supply chain design is flawed (programs, "processes", replenishment strategy, and the lousy excuse for a 3PL Universal). -Safety. The "EHS" team is a joke. All actions are reactive, with zero proactivity to make the facility safer. When safety violations are brought to managements' attention, it will go months without being addressed, and then closed without resolution. -Toxic culture. There is complete lack of leadership in this facility. This has lead to an overwhelming toxic culture. Basic employee code of conduct is not enforced. This has lead to a culture rife with lies, deceit, and numerous inappropriate relationships that are "conveniently overlooked". -Turnover. In my professional career, I've never seen the employee turnover that HSV sees. Polaris has chewed through the entire area workforce already (hence why they have weekly job fairs). -HR. HR is the snake of management. Two faced, liars, that do not care about employee well being and just protecting the company. You've been warned. -Management. Management is a rag-tag group of leftover hacks. Anyone with experience and education has come and gone. This has left those without any other options as the managers (they've outlasted everyone else, not that they are qualified or an expert in that position). -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 0.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 2.0 1.0 5.0 985 Open This would be advice for corporate in Minnesota: it is past due to clean management house. Start at the plant manager and hr manager. The culture of Huntsville Polaris is toxic, and it starts at the top. But if corporate truly cared, they would have already closed down this plant. Unfortunately, the all-mighty dollar is winning the moral dilemma. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 4.0 Open Apr 12th, 2024 12:19PM Apr 12th, 2024 12:19PM Polaris Industries Consumer Goods Leisure Goods
