So much working, and no time to do anything. Leadership is tough, and really only cares if you are willing to sacrifice every day of your life to writing loans. Upper leadership does not listen to bankers wants/needs, and it is a toxic work environment. You might make money, you might not.

you have like zero work life balance are expected to work every single weekend for at leasf 3 hrs overtime they pay you half of your regular hrly pay they change commission structures every 2-3 months so u mever know if its gonna be better or worse they also give you two months of a small ramp uo and month 3 youll either be in ketter fkr not hitting your goal or youll be threatened to out on letter consistently expected to work over 60 hrs a week and if youre remote looking for help learn to make friends FAST because your directors wont help you

The program starts off great with detailed training and tools for obtaining NMLS. But micromanaging and smothering will drive you insane. We are required to call 1000 people daily to get numbers. These are definitely cold calls, don’t let them convince you otherwise. Only allotted a 30 min lunch during 10 hour shifts. So much more.

Not the place to go for tech

Being a self taught engineer, I’ve spent years learning about software engineering and information technology. I was told by my superiors that this company takes internal team members and they promote from within; in effort to give team members a chance to grow in the career of their choice as long as it was an available career at the Rocket Family. I was told that if I worked hard, learned what I needed to learn, that I would be able to get where I wanted to be. Which was in technology. Over the course of 5 years or longer, I’ve had no success in breaking into the technology industry here. You must have a degree, or 3-5 years or more of professional relevant experience for entry level tech related roles. I’ve actually wasted the last 5 years of my life here, using the company’s learning resources to learn about software, working several different roles in effort to climb the corporate latter. and after all that, they claim that it’s not good enough.
The only reason to work here is to become a licensed mortgage banker, all the other teams are all set, and don’t need or want to onboard fresh entry level people. They are only interested in people who are able to “hit the ground running”,
I have educated myself enough of this field for it to equivocate to an associates degree at any university, but haven’t had the opportunity to attend a real school because of work life balance. I’ve displayed proof in my skills and I was told I need to get experience to be considered for these roles, and they are unwilling to provide the opportunity to gain the experience. If you are looking to get into tech here, you better have been coding since you were 7 years old, built profitable projects by age 12, and have 30 years experience by age 15. I’m obviously over exaggerating, but that’s what they make it seem.
