Let’s be fully transparent about this company from someone who has observed and witnessed a lot.

1. Pay is good 2. Corporate management is good 3. Decent amount of paid time off available 4. Room to advance or transition to other departments, as long as you are weekend bar buddies with those interviewing you.
|
1. Field operations management needs major improvement. 2. Communication lacks severely between other departments. 3. All mistakes that other departments make becomes the responsibility of the field operator. No accountability exists. 4. Lead roles on different crews lack leadership, communication, and basic people skills needed to fulfill their role. 5. Too many cliques exist in the field operations department, working as a team is close to non-existent. 6. Range Resources claims they will provide opportunities for advancement and/or opportunities to transition into other departments of interest. What they fail to tell you so that it doesn’t matter what your interest level, desire to learn, or even experience you have that can transition into that other role, if you are not a personal favorite or part of the clique of the people who make the final decision on who to hire, you are better off seeking those opportunities with another company. Favoritism presides over logic and experience in this company.
In short: I don’t care how much money you can make here, if the above issues are not resolved, you are walking into a miserable job everyday you report to work. It’s worth making less at a job you can actually enjoy and feel fulfilled in rather than suffer misery everyday because of corrupt issues left unattended and ignored.

Work on ridding of the clicks in the company that prevent determined, self-motivated, and dedicated employees who actually have experience and skills needed to fulfill job roles so that opportunities for advancement are given to the employees fairly. Work on getting your communication straightened out. The poor level of communication that was witnessed after being with the company for years only gives Range Resources a bad name. Enforce other departments to take accountability for their mistakes, unfinished or half-completed projects. Stop throwing other departments responsibilities on the lease operators and maybe your turnover rate wouldn’t be so bad. Work on selecting proper lead roles for each crew instead of resorting to favoritism by the supervisors. It’s embarrassing to work under poor leadership. Fix all the above and maybe your company would propel forward in giving your employees the sense of accomplishment at the end of each day and give them some kind of eagerness to want to come into work the next day outside of being there just to make a paycheck.
