Horrible upper management, excessive workload

Horrible upper management, the company never gives the team a minute to breath, micro-manage everything. Super task heavy, even for pointless stuff. Company has horrible inventory control and expects you to fix it for them with OHIA. POGs every other week. Even with all the arbitrary tasking, the job isn't impossible. What made me leave was upper management. I have never worked with a more unpleasant and unprofessional DM. The DM can make or break retention for the district, even down to the 5th BA. If you can't keep your SMs, you won't be able to keep your BAs. I saw 7 SMs leave before me in less than a year. Everyone has different experiences, it's so localized, another district could be great. This is just my experience.

Good first job, but when there was any sort of major problem trust we couldn’t really count on the company to make sure we as a store of employees were taken care of. Wishing there was a decent HR. But super straightforward retail job, very laid back and good for getting experience In retail and beauty.

Will advertise as full time but never give you full time hours. Management is horrible and if you express concern to district manager, you will be ignored. Managements only concern is making money. You’ll need to prove you can sell the most to earn hours. Working there is always a competition and you can’t really become friends with coworkers because everyone is doing what they can to get hours. Employee performance reviews are insanely soul crushing and you’ll be told a decent review is only possible if you’re somehow outselling the manager and somehow acting as manger without the title. You’ll never get enough hours to outsell a manager. Managers always greet and customer service the heck out of loyal customers who work up big tabs, therefore taking credit for the biggest sales always. Upward mobility is practically impossible. Most promotions are not earned, they are given to people who management thinks they owe it to like someone who’s been with the company for 5yrs but not necessarily performing the best. Tons of false promises to keep you going longer. Only pro is the monthly free products but a lot of times they’ll only offer a special discount. Lots of products constantly discontinued makes you wonder about the state of the company and how long they’ll stay in business.

if u don't mind running around from station to station with out finishing your first assignment and are still expected to have 90% work production then go ahead and work here and if your looking for part time one thing they don't tell you is you are still expected to have a 90% production score they don't cut that in half just because you are part time though I personally think it they should it's pretty hard to get 90% done with all the running around they have you do and only working part the time it takes to get to 90% I'm just sayin!!!! you have fun enjoy!!

Meaningful connections and a good mix of challenging and easy

In my experience great place to work if you love socializing and are knowledgeable in cosmetology, or wanting to learn. I often help customers for 30 minutes to an hour+ to achieve their vision! I have learned so much working here, the training is pretty extensive even if you start with little experience. Between customers we usually have usually very simple tasks to keep the store organized and clean. I have built so many meaningful connections and made lifelong friends. If you’re motivated and enjoy customer service its pretty easy going.

The company doesn’t care about the workers truly only the money. They loose a lot of employees and tend to overwork people, which causes a lot of people to leave. They will try to get you to work on vacations

Upper management fail their store managers
|
Upper management had unrealistic and unreasonable expectations for their store managers. Expecting 20+ hour tasks (ex. constant floor/ planogram changes, giant shipments ect) to be completed during an 8 hour shift, while also helping customers, make sales, keep store clean and all other typical management duties; without allowing overtime, or more staffing. They deny any pto time you request. They rxpect you to be oncall 24/7 but REFUSE to allow yo you work overtime and only pay hourly. Totally bogus, i do not recommend.
