I come to work at 5:30 to punch in for 6am i mostly work 45 hours when theres work. I like the people I work with and my supervisor. Though work can be time consuming at times. I enjoy the work flow. Old, antiquated and silo management style. Behind the times and behind the competition. No understanding of distribution and an adversarial relationship with their distribution partners rather than a business relationship. Excellent basic product and the company remains in business based on the brand name. Future very uncertain, old technology in relation to competition Many good long term employees, workers. Starrett Factory outside Sales Representative Rockwall, TX USA Starrett was a great company to work for. i met someone new evry day. Mondays at Starrett was a office day and to set schedules typically then starting Tuesday -Friday was mostly travel days covering 5 states. some weeks I would work local areas.in this role I learned that patience pays off with dealing with such large territory and making time to get back with every customer in a timely basis. the culture in this company was very relaxed and if you had a family issue that was very important to this company to address, which I liked very much. The hardest part was a lot of travel , some weeks I may not get home for two days and back on road for five days. I loved the opportunity to pretty much be my own boss in all these states that I traveled. Starrett Machinist Athol, MA USA Cut-throat and stressful work environment Worked here for four months in hopes to participate in the incentive program as my department was the highest yielding in the program. After 3 months of employment the baseline for the program was raised by 17% making in nearly impossible to produce any income through the program diminishing my ambition and reducing my interest in acquiring permanent employment here.
