Old School Company With Fearful Leadership
|
This company is just plain old to every extent of the word. Old workforce, outdated technology, old fashion ways. Innovation and creativity is not welcome. Leadership from the company’s ugly past continue to stay and their bad attitudes creep into the company’s morale and inhibit its ability to make progress. Leadership is more worried about keeping their cushy jobs in a bad market than they are with engaging employees and advancing the company. Good luck recruiting young and intelligent people to this awful company.

Champagne taste, beer budget.

Nothing happens. It is stagnant. It is brain dead most of the time. It is too cushy of a job that people start to go out and make problems for themselves. The company totes a visage of positivity but is truly rotten to the core. This job is best done just existing and showing up. The steps are easy. It is recommended to find a middle of the road position you don't mind doing for the rest of your life. Too high up and you can get politically fired. stay too low and you can get cut for "budget" reasons.

Continued learning about title insurance from where I left off at my first title company position. Opportunities to learn different jobs, including processing, closing, policy production, examination, in both residential and commercial. I was a commercial closer and policy typist for 16 years at Stewart. The most enjoyable part of my position with Stewart was feeling that I was trusted to do my job with minimal supervision; it feels good to know you are respected in that way.

Salaries could be a little lower than competitors, but I appreciated and considered the accommodations given for personal life situations.

Does not back up or take care of support staff
|
Use to be a wonderful office environment! Wonderful on training support staff and I learned a lot over my 17 years. Management at the office level and division level never insisted on cross-training, so the support staff was left to do 2-3 people’s jobs. The last 3 years I was very overwhelmed and expressed that, but never received help or backup until the last few weeks I was there. The workplace and culture were good. The hardest part of my job was working for 3 closers and keeping up. The most enjoyable part of my job was funding and post closing and helping our customers! I was always proud to be a part of Stewart Title.
