Family Service Counselor Sales Suitland, MD USA Look elsewhere They don’t value the employees as a counselor, there is never a line drawn. They don’t care about your family or your home life. They are like PIMPS…They want their MONEY. The StoneMor managers don’t follow up with customers and these are grieving families. The company offers great PTO, Sick time, Vacation, 401K. You don’t have time to use any of it hardly. You are working constantly. It’s SALES, it’s nothing Customer Service about it. Once they get people’s money they don’t care any longer. Coming from a fortune 500 company, StoneMor is the most disorganized place I’ve ever worked at. Their pay is horrendous and forget about onboarding new employees, you are thrown to the field due to how short staffed this company is. Management does not have a clue on how to manage. All they care about is sales. Administrator Uniontown, PA USA Productive work place The very best part of stonemor are the people you get to work with. My coworkers are wonderful people who really try to help our families. Management leaves a lot to be desired. You will not get a standard answer for many of your questions. And when you do you find out later that it was wrong. There is a lot of on the job training. The families that we get to serve are truly a blessing. I have been able to leave their daily feeling like I have helped people. The money for the non commission position is not great. You are expected to watch over processes from the other departments without any real guidance. You will have one person in management tell you not to do something. Administrator Indiana Huge Workload and Horrible Managers The only upside to this nightmare of a job is the feeling of helping the families and working with some great people on site. Anyone higher up in management are only worried about the sales and how much money you can bring in for them. I was only trained to do half my job and got yelled at when I couldn’t fulfill the duties that I wasn’t fully trained to do. You’re expected to do a huge work load by yourself with not much pay to show for it despite having the most important position at the location. You make sure the bills are paid, put in work orders for maintenance, enter/service contracts and customer payments, place marker orders, order office supplies, update records, file family folders, and do weekly reports. Like I said, you have the most important job. Good luck getting trained fully in all of those duties but upper management will insist that you did anyway if they have to cover themselves for looking incompetent in front of their own supervisors. Hope and pray that you don’t walk into this job after the location hasn’t had a proper admin team for a year or two because you’ll be swamped right from the start as well. Never in my entire professional life have I felt like I needed an actual psychiatric evaluation afterwards. If it wasn’t for my coworkers at the location, I would’ve given this company just one star.
