Great Place to Work
This is a great company, with a fantastic culture. Fortune 500 business that feels like a small family company. Interesting and challenging work. Highly recommend it.

Poorly managed
I worked for a builder that was acquired by Toll Brothers. The builder was poorly managed and they didnt care at all about their employees. The compensation was terrible compaired to the work load expected. I have 10yrs construction management experience and have worked for five different builders and this builder by far the absolute worst by far.

Incredible product and clientele but lacking in effective leadership
Toll Brothers offers the best of customer service and the company policy lends itself to providing beautiful homes and making the homeowners happy.
But if you start in a lower sales position it is very hard to get promoted to a commissioned sales position or what they used to call “sales manager”. The lower sales position were salary but they worked you like you were commission with no overtime.

Toxic Work Environment
Predominantly male, the work environment is unpleasant and rather toxic. I silently dealt with a lot of negative behaviors that completely flew in the face of the company's supposed values. Customer service is a joke and they only compensate customers who threaten to call corporate. It took no time to realize that this company is all talk and no action, both when it comes to customer service and employee support. Stay away!!

Work-life balance
Work-life balance at Toll Brothers is difficult. You must work every weekend in sales
Overall
My experience working at Toll Brothers was good. Coworkers and project manager were great. Surroundings were beautiful.
Downside was working every weekend in sales.

Stressful environment
Upper management are very hard on their employees and create a stressful environment. If you work in the sales department, they expect you to work every weekend and work above 40 hours a week. If you are not liked, it is very difficult to get promoted or keep your job.

Great place! Office politics not a prominent or unpleasant experience. Very accomodating and thoughtful 1st/2nd level management.
On occasion someone who is not on top of things is tolerated too much. They/he/she need their cage rattled but that might/might not happen. On balance a very good place to work. Had I not relocated I would have happily stayed there permanently. Colleagues are very helpful. No holds back support as to freeze you out.

People, first/second level management and fellow grunts.

Worst Experience in My Professional Career
Good pay/benefits and great employees that care about the customers. Downhill from there. Training presented to sales employees focused on racially profiling buyers/customers. Racial/Gender microaggressions are a daily occurrence. No work/life balance. No support from manager in managing impossible workload. When discovered legal/moral concerns, senior leaders hid issues and did not resolve them. Would NEVER recommend this company as a great place to work. Was the worst experience in my professional career.
Great employees who work hard; good pay/benefits
Unmanageable workload; Dishonesty from Senior Leaders; Racial discrimination at every level, from senior leaders to profiling customers; zero work/life balance

Incredible Company who is suffering from an identity crisis
The transition from the previous Project Manager business model to a Area Production Manager and Area Sales Manager model has been problematic. Its not the APM/ASM model that is the problem, as this is the primary model that is used in the rest of the homebuilding industry. A large part of the challenge is that the majority of the leadership, especially the senior leadership, has NEVER worked in that environment. They struggle with understanding that an ASM and an APM 's primary focus is to work directly with Sales Consultants and Construction Managers, coaching and developing them. It is the administrative duties of the former project manager model that prevents the ASM's and APM's from driving for closings, sales and a better customer experience. Senior Leadership and Mid Level Leadership needs both an integration of new team members with varied experience from other home builders as well as detailed training on what the ASM/APM business model looks at other builders. The ideas and experiences from the people who have come from outside of Toll also needs to be sought out and embraced.
The Senior Leadership team gave up on the Customer Concierge program too quickly. The program was never given the proper planning, training, and time to be successful. The concept was incredible and with the right amount of the previous it truly could have been that extra edge needed to set Toll Brothers apart as THE Luxury Builder. The Company is still struggling with what "Luxury" means today and how to deliver it. This balance is very difficult to achieve today. The primary way it should be achieved is with the primary focus being on the experience of the customer. This should also be balanced with the product itself. A beautiful architectural design of both the community and floor plan offering cannot come with a set of outstanding features that are inferior to many of the surrounding competitors. Leadership should also work on achieving consistency in treatment of their customers and the resolutions they offer and agree to with challenges that arise. With social media keeping everyone connected, customers share everything. Analyzing the solutions offered and utilized, then trusting that the fair and consistent treatment of all customers is what will prevail in the end is the needed foundation for an overall excellent customer experience.
Wonderful people working for them with a large amount of them with 8+ years tenure, Incredible Company with great benefits and programs available to their employees, The Company has the desire to achieve work/life balance, Culture Ambassador program is great, diversity is discussed, promoted and desired
Many of the same employees who have been there 8+years have no other home builder experience, This length and type tenure has resulted in Toll tunnel vision, Toll Tunnel vision is proving to be problematic in the goal of achieving Div of Future Goals, the company’s promotion of work/life balance conflicts w/ duties given to Sales & Construction, Compensation of ASM's & APM's is not adequate or reflective of the tasks/duties given, although diversity is desired- the actual work force is not very diverse

Lifestyle Attendant

Parkland, FL

I had a bad experience working for this company for 1 year before they sold it to Troon
I worked as a lifestyle attendant at the Parkland, FL location and the job is only good for supplemental pay. There were no opportunities to grow within the company and too much favoritism among management. Also, the residents got away with everything that was against the clubhouse policy, so I never understood why they held me along with my coworkers responsible for enforcing rules.
Location and opportunity to develop administrative skills
Horrible hours, pay is horrible, no advancement opportunities, and lack of respect from residents
