Mostly great people but management politicking is off the charts.
|
Overall, I enjoyed my 2.5 years with TC, as generally most people you work with are congenial and committed to creating a strong cohesive corporate culture. A lot of intelligent folks that you get to work with everyday makes the experience intellectually rewarding, too. However, this extends as far as being an individual contributor because among the management ranks, cliques and politicking run rampant. This makes it an extremely uneasy environment to navigate as a manager because constructive discourse and opinion-sharing can land you on the outs pretty quick, and it gets worse the higher up you go.

The top management of the company does not have clear strategy or vision.
|
I was working in Contract and Procurement (C&P). The team members and line manager were very experienced and knowledgeable, but the C&P function was not considered seriously by core business. The C&P’s role is limited to process the paperwork – business decisions are made without proper C&P due diligence. Cost is not important for top management or maybe they lack cost controlling skills. If the budget is available, they will spend it for things that are “nice to have”. Top Management hired third party consultants to do work for them.

Un día típico, a lo menos de mi parte era estar encargado de la eficien y productividad laboral de los empleados, ahí aprendí el como manejar grandes masas de personas y ser un buen líder, me gusta mucho hacer bien mi trabajo y poder transmitir mi liderazgo y conocimientos a cuadrilla o grupo de trabajadores asignados.

Work is exciting, pay is good.
Company does seem very uncoordinated at the moment with ongoing reorgs and layoffs. Management seems a little disconnected at times. Regardless, would still recommend working here.
