Bad - To many mentors and managements telling you different ways to do your job, there is no one standard way of processes things, made it very confusing and doubting yourself all the time, also work load was to much for one person to handle, you were always do the work of 2-3 people. high stress company to work for.
Good - meet a lot of great people and some were willing to help you.

You will find people that have worked at the company 30 to 40 years. It is a comfortable place to work, expectations are not that high, but the pay is not high compared to other companies in the industry.

Pay was great, but there was no support given to employees. When asking for assistance or trying to resolve a clients issue, it was like pulling teeth to be able to help them. Too short staffed

Unum is definitely the one company in the location where EVERYONE has worked. I started as an intern and transitioned to FTE. Whether people start off here or are working there for a time. Most teams have some sort of team activities planned, and Unum cares for the community.

Good pay and benefits, bad worklife balance

Coworkers are generally great. Direct managers are usually good as well, but upper management is very disconnected from actual day to day activities. Work life balance is a struggle. Generally the worst thing about Unum is the massive workload you will be given at some point.
