working with the campus president was a nightmare. will not support you and will have favorites with certain outside vendors.

UTI is all about the "Money!" Saw dozens of students pass through my classes at UTI, most of which will never be successful in the industry. The emphasis was on keeping the seats full so that UTI could keep the money flowing in from the government loans that most students were taking to attend the school.
In stead of allowing us to enhance or create content for the benefit of the students they would have us paint classrooms; a maintenance function. There emphasis on keeping the place clean was to boost the ability of the sales dept to sell seats in classrooms when the sales reps would do tours of the campus.

Support services are inadequate. Management is never happy, even if you are far exceeding your goals. Cut-throat and negative work environment. No time off. Lost sigh of the humanity dealing with teenagers.

Management sets unrealistic goals. Constantly reminded that what you are doing is wrong, even when follow direct guidance of your regional director. Work and life balance is 90/10 in their favor. Very cut throat environment driven by leadership that has been with the company for several years and will do anything to protect themselves and their own security.

You can get away with anything

Overall
A group who break to smoke outside all day yell at students and staff.
Directors and managers have seen and heard the yelling. Some of them are yelled at and nothing has been done. The school has a revolving door for new people. People who have worked for 6 years, to 25 years usually stay.
We work 14 hours a day. We can let students out early so we get longer breaks.

rewarding place to work lean lot of new things

i enjoyed my time at UTI =, very insightful i learned how to do a lot of things in plumbing,electrical, and painting and others. had quite a bit of downtime which was fine cause i was in school as well overall pretty easy job.

Worked as a welding instructor in Avondale, Arizona for less than 6 months. Pay was poor and hours were much less than promised. No one in upper management knew a thing about welding and refused to listen to very qualified instructors. The curriculum that was slapped together by the red company was full of errors and no one cared. $22k per seat was their main goal! Took advantage of veterans programs and offered no welding certifications through the AWS. A fraudulent program. Would never recommend it to anyone who really wanted to learn to weld. Go to Tulsa welding school or Hobart. These guys are clowns!

Terrible management
|
Do your self a favor and look elsewhere. This company is not open minded nor employee focused. Management is only concerned about themselves. I worked there for over 5 years and had prior experience in higher education. They have same people in higher positions for 15 plus years and are not open minded about new ideas/ processes. Lots and lots of favoritism it’s unbelievable they get away with it. There is no diversity. They currently have one Spanish speaking advisor that has to help various departments to translate. If you are a great worker you get more work. If you are lazy nothing happens you get away with it. People take 5 or more smoking breaks and are never told they can’t. The same employees are rude to students and NOTHING is addressed to these employees. Every year things got worst and worst. The only way you do good there is if you get along with the president and management. If they don’t like you personally, things will go downhill for you.

Very Rewarding

Worked here for 10 years , the people were great , it was mostly a positive work environment, the pay was a little low but on par, even though I was under paid I loved my job and the impact that I made. Will miss working there .

A great opportunity to learn fresh out of college. I was welcomed immediately and trained well so I was able to move up quickly. The financial aid office got me started but accounting was where I found a true purpose and great leadership.
