Coordinate gas meter inventory data including the purchasing, testing, refurbishment, and retirement of gas meters for three regional operating centers. Analyze account billing components and metering accuracy. This position is that of a working supervisor, responsible for supervising and performing job functions within assigned areas. Insure that interactions with customers reflect the highest standards of conduct and professionalism. Collaborate with other departments to insure the accuracy and effectiveness of gas metering reading processes. These responsibilities include: <br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Field design<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Prepare cost estimates<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Prepare construction planners for projects including material requirements and street opening permits<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Provide field crews with technical assistance and collaboration on an as needed basis. <br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Prepare authorizations<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Collaborating with engineering during design and construction phases for individual projects.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Collaborate with purchasing and stores on procurement and delivery time tables to ensure that material is available in order to meet construction need dates<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Utilizes scheduling, tracking, and reporting mechanisms to ensure the timely and cost effective completion of budgeted projects and associated expenditures<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Complete as-built drawings and associated project paperwork to ensure accurate and timely job closeout<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Work with City Public Works and Engineering Departments on Unitil proposed construction projects to ensure cooperation with permits, scheduling and potential conflicts<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Work with City Public Works and Engineering Departments on regarding their own construction and resurfacing projects that might impact our gas distribution system<br></p> <p>20%&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; - Project Planning and Coordination (Maintenance): Assist supervisory personnel with the coordination and planning of gas system maintenance activities to ensure public safety and compliance with Federal Regulations 49 CFR, State Regulations CMR 220, and Unitil’s Operation and Maintenance Procedures. These responsibilities include:<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;System Gas Leak Repair (Emergency and Scheduled)<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Critical valve inspection program<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Distribution valve inspection program<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Public Building inspection program<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Service valve inspection program<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Service abandonment program<br></p> <p>10%&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; - Training: Assist in the development and administration of training programs to ensure that gas system employees are qualified to perform duties safely and effectively, and in compliance with State and Federal Regulations. These responsibilities include Operator Qualification, Pipe Joining, and Street Restoration.<br></p> <p>As Needed:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Capitalizes on unplanned opportunities and responds to unforeseen situations; undertakes and completes assignments and special projects as assigned by management.
