Cut out the nepotism. Treat people like people. It’s incredibly disheartening that my boss was related to another person higher up in the same department and within the same line of authority. My boss was a toxic micromanager who treated me and my APM very poorly. Our Senior PM was similarly toxic & never took the time to sit me down to tell me why he wanted to move me to another building - instead he had the office secretary call me.
