Company is ran as cheap as possible. You will be working for the lowest paying company in the gulf.

Type of company who likes to put bandaids on things rather than fix them. Anything to save a dollar, which often ends up in them wasting way more money than necessary. You will not be compensated for the workload that is put on you. You hear of raises but they are empty promises. The bare minimum number of employees per facility. Will fiddle with your overtime if you have too much. Questionable ethics. Ran very old school.

Unfortunate Oil prices declined half company laid off. Independent culture allowed you to do what you felt needed to be done. Great Company. Associates were supportive and helpful there was not competition.

A Completely Dysfunctional Company
|
This company is the worst company I have worked at in my career. From the top down the leadership is completely incompetent with no leadership skills what so ever. If you are not kissing up to the CEO you have zero chance of success there.
My manager had zero understanding of anyone's job function outside of what that person actually did and took no time to understand. However, tried to make it look like he/she was some kind of expert. The CEO is a loaded multi millionare but doesn't even provide reasonable benefits for his employees.
The culture is awful, there is no sense of team even they claim it is a "family!" When you see people walk around the looks on their faces tell the tell of how happy they are. They look like they are suffering from dysentery.
Some employees get to do whatever they want and work very little because they are "favored" leaving the workload to be pushed on other people.
The computer systems there are completely obsolete as many of the technical abilities of the employees that support them.
The company has almost gone bankrupt before and I would not be shocked if it does at some point in the future because of how poorly run it is.

Beyond Toxic Environment, Stay Away
|
The most toxic place that I have worked in my 18 years of employment. SEC stripped a management person of their CPA license and the person is still corrupt. Corruption from company president, to HR, to backstabbing staff. Look at their EEOC complaints, stay as far away as you can.

I enjoyed my time with W&T. I worked 14 and 14 schedule with a moderate work load. Occasional outage work required long hours to resume facility production. Diversity in process separation equipment made for great tool to acquire knowledge of production safety systems and controls. The enforcement of stricter policies dealing with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory is an evolving culture for W&T. This change is creating a safer working environment for all facets of W&T Offshore's operations. The offshore living conditions as a whole were adequate. As with most facilities, the conditions were based on the amount of attention given to the facilities, which in most locations was sufficient which made for a clean comfortable living and working environment. The production supervision and management teams, from my perspective, are great to work for. My utmost respect goes out to these personnel and I wish them the best in years to come.

Not a good place to work

I was told by a fellow employee to leave whenever I got the chance. I didn't understand him until after a few years of frustration and head banging. Management is poor and self-serving, and the benefits are bad.

Was a great in the past but management has turned it into a hostile work enviroment.

I worked there a number of years and can say there is little to no management especially to the workers. There is no room for growth and communications are almost nonexistent.
