Understaffed is an understatement. You will be expected to do work completely outside of what you were hired for because they will not replace employees that quit or get fired. It is impossible to complete your work in a timely, error free manner due to the inadequate staffing. Expect to be underpaid for all of the work you do. Paid time off is also extremely sparse starting in this company compared to the paid time off you would receive at other banks. There is a reason the turn-over at this company is so high. There is no order with how things are done, you can ask three people the same question and get three different answers due to lack of training. There is no form of write ups for employees making negligent errors. Firing of employees is not reflective of their ability to do their job, it is purely political within the company, which is disheartening. Good employees that know what they are doing are often let go because someone doesn't like them. This is an outdated bank and they do not want to change their ways. Though they are known for being a "hometown bank", it is almost becoming their biggest weakness, and is now just outdated and inefficient. Training is non existent, and the turn over rate is extremely high, across the board. Worked at WSCB for almost 11 years, had so many positive emails from customers and employees with cards and flowers sent. Lost many employees with over 10 years experience and knowledge. Put it all on next person's shoulders with no compensation. They asked the employees to complete a survey of what we thought of the bank and management. Didnt like some peoples responses and feel they have since let people go due to their honesty. Very sad for the people left behind and the customers who will suffer in the aftermath. Rarely uses write up processes instead fire employees on a whim. Senior employees get the option to work a couple weeks and quit or be terminated. Coworkers who try to encourage new processes are terminated. Management encourages terrible customer service and speaks poorly of personal and business customers. Included with that was the fact that when employees left or were terminated in a department they were not replaced and the work was just added to the remaining department staff, with no increase in salary for those who absorbed the additional work. Leadership after multiple turnovers at the CEO level seemed to only care about the bottom line and not the well being of any of their employees. The staff was asked to do extra work with no extra compensation. As a manager you are on call 24/7 including PTO time. You never truly got a break and the work life balance was non-existent. The "insider cliques" and who you know game was prevalent as well, if you were part of the clique you were good to go, but if you weren't or crossed one of the insiders you were looked down upon. This was a tough environment to work in and overall had some negative ramifications on my view of managers.
