You get to work in sports. Its great working and watching the game. Most of the employees are good people to work with.

Management. They have no idea what they're doing. They come up with ridiculous segments that no one cares about. Also, some of their talent have no credibility so why would anyone turn them on so get their opinion? Management doesn't pay everyone fairly, they string everyone along. They keep saying everything is fine even though they have had 3 major layoffs in the last year.

Fun and friendly staff, plenty of vacation days, nice perks including White Sox tickets and in the rare cases of promotion it's been done from within

Cheap, very limited parking and reserved for management, plus front line staff is completely ignored by upper management. Basically there are too many Chiefs, not enough Indians and those Chiefs are completely disconnected and indifferent yet have grandiose expectations without providing proper and/or inferior resources

- watching sports for a living

- you may never get a weekend day off, unless you burn your PTO to do so
- terrible communication between management and employees... and different departments
- things change daily, sometimes without supervisors even knowing
- pay for the work you do

Promising company with a lot of problems

It is a great company for people who are new to the industry. It can be very hard to set down in Chicago from elsewhere and get a job in video production. It is a good resume builder.
|
Management does not really care about its low-level employees. They maintain production by hiring people with very little experience and paying them correspondingly low. There is very little room to grow in this company, so expect to be where you are for a while. Some departments have upward movement while other are neutered.

Good foot in the door job, but nothing more than that. Don't stay longer than you absolutely need to.

Management belittles everyone. Witnessed a supervisor call someone "retarded" because of a typo. No joke. The environment is toxic because of the management team's condescending attitude. They pretend it's all in good fun but the negative environment it creates is pervasive. I wouldn't recommend this job if you want to love what you do.

Very poorly managed especially from the standpoint of advancement and compensating the employees for the work that is done. They often leverage more responsibilities on employees without properly paying them for their elevated role or title. Issues with CP's, specifically yelling at and criticizing PA's in front of the rest of their coworkers. Advancement is not always based on the hard work that you put in, but rather the personal relationship you have with the managers.

pay employees what they're worth, or you will consistently put out a product that is marginal and below industry standards. be transparent and let employees know how the state of the company is. don't lie to employees saying "we will pay you to attend this meeting, then lay off half your work force" make sure your talent actually knows something about sports before you hire them
