7 Cups has good premise, but administrative problems

Very much independent work and can set your own hours, so scheduling is flexible. Generally easy to use site, although some people say it is overwhelming. Many positions as a listener that you can apply to to get more involved in the platform.
|
Not long enough initial training for listeners, so there are many bad quality ones. I hear a great deal of complaints from members about listeners who have tried to start sexual chats or made inappropriate remarks or turned people away unfairly. Also some listeners are very unprofessional.

Online. You have a somewhat flexible schedule. Accepting and open to diverse people (gender, religion, sexuality, etc).

The pay is very low, especially given that you get lots of tasks that are not realistic. There are people who get away with hardly doing any work at all. You are paid on a 1099 so be ready to give back 15% of your income. No matter how much effort you put into your role there are no ways to move up in your career. You are not allowed to tell other community users about your job. Many of my coworkers were terminated unfairly and without a reasonable explanation.

Please, consider at least giving employees a W2. Do not let decisions be made by just one manager. Show more appreciation for employees; for example, if you give more tasks to your employees, make sure you give them more compensation. Allow your employees to grow within the roles.

1) Very kind and supportive community 2) Resources such as guides, articles, etc. available on various mental health topics (e.g., Depression, Anxiety, Parenting, CBT, Mindfulness) 3) Many opportunities for growth (e.g., internship programs, encouragement of self-care, leadership roles, etc.) 4) Free emotional support available 24/7. 5) Good leadership system, so feedback is always considered and improvements are always made.

1) Users can be anonymous, so some may misuse the platform (e.g., by being rude, flirting, spamming, etc.). 2) A lot of work here is unpaid, so you may love it if you are seeking free support, would like to volunteer your time, or want to develop your knowledge and skills.
