Worked here as an apprentice for just over 2 years and I was fortunate to have an amazing team who taught me so much and it's helped me excel in my career even after I left. People were approachable and friendly. MD and other directors genuinely cared about the company and staff.

Keep doing what you are doing, but please listen to the people below you, they understand the day to day workload and enforcing much more work onto a strained team will only make them dissatisfied and actually quite hurt as they do care a lot about the company and want it to succeed.

The directors are easy to talk to. Very welcoming.

Energy: Academia is one of the most vibrant companies that I have worked for. There is always a buzz around the office and I feel part of something exciting.
Enthusiasm: The MD is passionate and enthusiastic about the company and his door is always open to any member of staff who wants to talk to him.
People: There are some great people working here. A good few have worked here for a very long time and to me that's always a sign of a great place to work.
Everyone is friendly and approachable and there is a god sense of loyalty and commitment to the business.
Development: If you want to develop your career this is a very supportive and encouraging place to be. The management team will listen to you and help to develop a career plan and it's up to you how much you get out of it - the more initiative I have shown the more reward I have been given.
Rewards: The company are very generous at rewarding their staff. The Christmas party is always a highlight and there are regular events during the year to celebrate success or to get staff together.

I would say the location is probably the only con for me as I can't go shopping in my lunch break and there aren't many good places to eat. But on a positive note it means I don't spend as much money in my lunch break!

Great local company to work for, a very relaxed office atmosphere providing you are working hard (of which I think is fair) nice people who make you feel part of the team including the senior management and board of directors who are very approachable and you can have a laugh and a joke with them…and often we have a drink in the pub after work, I like that the senior management are involved in the day to day activities and sit amongst their individual teams within the business.
Pros: The Company works hard on staff wellbeing such as free breakfast every morning, monthly gym membership contribution, child care vouchers, annual pay review, on a number of occasions management will arrange for staff to have massages in the office too which I think is a nice touch. I specifically enjoy the realistic work life balance the business offers such as flexible working hours and the option to work from home when needed on an ad hoc basis. In addition to our holiday entitlement the company provides staff with an extra 10 hours per year to play with for leave earlies or start lates. They offer lots of training and courses of which the company pay for .

Cons: Not many options for where to eat during lunch due to location accept the 2 cafes and a pub restaurant. Parking isn’t great very limited spaces, office needs a staff chill out area as currently only a canteen with normal tables and chairs, working days can be long 0830-1730 and often asked to attend lunch and learn sessions during lunch hour.
