I've always received any and all support that I needed from the director, admins, and other faculty members. I have never experienced any friction within the department and the communication is always on point. This is an excellent place to work if you are competent in your field of expertise and wish to share that knowledge with students who aspire to work in the same industry. They hire industry professionals with actual work experience, making the course content relatable to the instructor and in turn, to the students. Because the school is open enrollment, there will always be variations in the level of student engagement and preparedness for each course section. Those working at AAU always need to take this into consideration, as it affects the class dynamic. I was involved teaching CDFP 2 (Construction, Draping, Flat Pattern Making for level 2) Sincerely enjoyed working extremely diversifying students, it was extremely Dynamic and Gratifying working place. Students were too good and the all faculty in department were very accommodating. You get it as soon as you ask. I was occupied weekly two days 6 hrs. a day and I always got extra time and facility to prepare for my class. Developed to learn lot with other faculty. Management was respectable. Thanks for giving me an opportunity and looking forward to teach in future. That's about it. They pay well and the benefits are decent. Just don't expect any loyalty or support. Management will throw anyone under the bus while being mystified as to why morale is consistently so low. This is a place where people disappear regularly, either being fired without warning or leaving without bothering to give notice. Furthermore, there was no flexibility of working remotely under any circumstances. My manager was so biased and had her mood swings almost every single day. She casually walked in late almost EVERY other day, and never showed up on Mondays but expected all the other team mates to be present on time and at their desk everyday of the week. What was also shocking was the way in which she communicated with her manager, and talked about him behind his back.
