Micromanagement - If you appreciate autonomy, this is not the job for you.

- Sales Enablement is the best I’ve personally experienced. It’s so helpful to have a dedicated team that’s willing to adapt to your individual learning style, especially with remote on-boarding.
- The company is actively hiring, even during COVID-19, which just goes to show that the product is still in high demand.
- There have been a handful of internal promotions to Senior/Director level roles since I was hired in August. Career advancement is a real thing here.
- Nimble teams throughout the company that are eager to offer a helping hand when needed. Previous companies felt a lot more silo’d and difficult to get the support needed to be successful.
- Commission structure is extremely fair. Hard work will definitely pay off at Accelo.

- The system is a bit more complex than I initially thought, which really isn’t a “con”, but does require a high-level of focus and motivation to learn.

Great team culture - really like being a part of the Sales Team!

Accelo was a very complex product to learn and at some points it really feels like you're drinking from a fire hose, but it's been great to have so much support of my team and my managers. I know that I always have people that I can go to for help and the training we got as new hires was second to none. Really felt prepared to take on my job and know what to do to be successful. It's also really great that Accelo promotes from within and it's motivating to see other people succeed on the team and get the opportunity to move into different roles. It makes me really want to make a difference here. The team also has a great culture - everyone is so friendly and supportive, even being remote - such positive energy!

Accelo has a lot of functionality in the product, so it's not something you can just learn right away. You have to be diligent and motivated and really committed to learning to be good at it. But I love always having a new challenge in front of me and there's always something new to learn. Like every start-up, there are growing pains, but I really love how our Sales Leaders include us in decisions and get our feedback as a group before making any changes to processes to help us be more efficient.

I joined the Sales Team within the last year. I have to say, these reviews made me slightly nervous- but I am so glad I made the decision to jump in.
Accelo has changed a lot in the last year- ask anyone. But this is all for the best.
A Few Key Changes that Make ALL THE DIFFERENCE:
*An amazing leadership team has been put into place. One that is POSITIVE, KIND, UPLIFTING and truly cares about the humans that work for them. Honestly- not something I have seen in every sales organization.
**The training was the best Sales Training I have been through in my career- it is A LOT of information. But I felt so prepared.
**Support- at a every level.

Accelo is not an easy product because it is capable of A LOT. It takes time to feel confident with it. Not a bad thing- but something to be aware of. You have to be committed and pay close attention to learn it well.

The culture at Accelo is the best I’ve ever worked for (its the Google of Wollongong) and I’ve met some of the most talented people ever during my time here, everyone brings their A Game every day. The Leadership team truly cares about each individual, welcomes creativity, and for the most part leads by example.
Training processes are great and really help people to feel comfortable in each position. The managers are always willing to help and will take time out of their day to dedicate to helping you if needed.
I'm a really driven person and I feel that Accelo see's this in me and has actively empowered me to not only grow in my role but to put forward ideas and strategic thinking that has had meaningful impact to the business and for our customers. My dream job

After I graduated from college I wasn't entirely sure what direction my career was going to go in. Accelo has given me the opportunity to not only explore all of the potential avenues I am interested in but has introduced me to career paths I had never considered myself to be a fit for. I cannot express enough how much I appreciate my manager for giving me the tools and resources to pursue things I'm passionate about while challenging me to expand on my current position.
The energy of a start up culture is not comparable to other companies. I personally value collaborative team efforts, transparency, flexible schedules, cultural diversity, celebrating life events both work related and personal, "Friday fun" with co-workers and leadership having individual relationships with everyone. Accelo has met and exceeded all of those expectations and set a new standard for what it means to be fulfilled and happy at work.
A few extras that I'll just quickly list:
-The caliber of people who work here
-Catered Friday lunches
-Wollongong office is gorgeous
-Living in a beach town but working for a tech start up that you can typically only find in a big city
-Fully stocked kitchen with snacks and beverages
-Breakfast spread for All Hands meetings
-Office location close to cafes, restaurants and shopping centre

Perspective appears to be a big issue with some recent negative reviews. I am proud to work here, and feel a bit shocked at some of the reviews. To go over some points that have been made here:
- Transparency: I have been amazed how much transparency there is here. Financials and Sales numbers at All Hands, updates from Leadership meetings and updates on recruiting. I do not know, I think some people need to work at other companies to compare how not transparent these sorts of things can be.
- Promotions: I have seen a number of these happen, so I would say it's not true to say it doesn’t happen.
- Experienced Software Engineers: There is no question some solid experienced devs have left, but a number of recent Team Lead hires bring significant development experience, and a couple of other recent hires appear to have brought many years experience with them too. Some more can’t hurt.
- Tech: Yes the Perl backend is quite old, but to say the stack is outdated and “poor direction” isn’t completely true. We’re partially ReactJS now, GraphQL with a new project, and even NodeJS in another new project. These aren’t widely used yet, but the direction is a start, hoping good things happen here.
- Learning: Lunch time learning sessions with highly experienced devs from the industry, opportunity to learn new tech that I mentioned above, free access to books and online courses of our choosing. Very self driven, but has been helpful.
- Being valued: Our Team gets shout outs in All Hands. Product owners are always excited and encouraging of the work we get done too.
- Agile Process: Lots of big change and improvement here. It meant more meetings, but also better planning and discipline. I think the direction is good.
- Work life balance is great. No crappy expectations of overtime or stuff like that. Flexible hours.

- Morale has suffered with some turnover. Doesn’t feel as energetic as it used to. But with more people getting hired and some new dev projects getting closer to done it feels like its turning around. It’s also nothing like some reviews have described here. I have found it to be a pretty caring environment, no jerks or anything like that. Nice people and feels relaxed.
- I don’t feel that connected with our customers, though there are initiatives happening to improve that, so management seems to be listening.
- Some projects need more time than they’re given, can feel rushed at times.
