I spent many years working as a software engineer at Accusoft and have fond memories of the time I spent there. If you want to learn how to build software and/or expand your skills, you can't go wrong working at Accusoft. Talent is swiftly promoted and management gets things right more often than not.

There are the typical issues you will find working for any company, but nothing significant to note. One thing to be wary of though is the left turn on MLK when pulling onto Riverside Dr. (main building) or into the east annex. I have seen multiple car crashes at those spots. Safer to go up to the light and circle around.

I have worked at multiple other software companies in the past and Accusoft by far was the best organized. Other reviews will address the free snacks, company events, etc. but I believe Accusoft shines as a company that does software engineering right. They have well structured Agile/Scrum practices, extensive infrastructure, and product ownership with an eye towards the future. Software engineering is more than just the raw code, and I was able to learn a ton about everything around it. I had the opportunity to truly grow as an engineer, and the senior engineering leadership was always eager and happy to help me on my journey.

Accusoft has a lot of products, and large portion of them are older. This means that a decent percentage of work is in legacy systems, but that is to be expected almost anywhere. But even within the legacy code there is an effort to modernize and bring in new features.

There is a lot that Accusoft does well, and it's imperative that leadership continues it's focus on employees first. Make sure that each employee has a voice and has open communication with their manager, product owner, and director. Some of the more obscure legacy products could potentially have their support ended which would free up resources to focus on other efforts.

The leadership at Accusoft is amazing from the CEO Jack to The HR director Christine. This company is taking steps in the right direction. I worked on the Customer Relationship management team focused on building long lasting relationships with each and every client. The director of this department Greg is patient and is really passionate about the growth of the team.
|
Cons this is a hard one because it really makes me look a bit deeper on how I view things. Anything thing that I ever needed or expressed concern in was always addressed. In the almost year that I was in the position my director worked very hard to help our team function as one well oiled machine. If anything I was the Con, I am a very passionate person that thrives in a different work environment. One word of advice to anyone interviewing for any company it is your job also to make sure the company is the right fit for you.
