Never ending layoffs

The only pros to this company are some of the people that work there and a severance package based on length of employment when the inevitable happens. The HR staff are all professional and anytime I had a question or an issue it was handled promptly and professionally.

This used to be a great company, but that all changed when the company was acquired in 2017. Since the acquisition I’ve seen entire departments get laid off on several occasions. After almost 16 years of employment I too was laid off, which honestly turned out to be the biggest blessing I could have ever asked for. The week after I was laid off my former boss flew in from New York and invited me to meet her for dinner. I accepted her invitation and drove an hour north in bumper to bumper traffic to meet her. At the end of the meal I was given a check for my portion of the meal which I thought was completely classless considering I was INVITED to dinner by the person who just fired me and I was unemployed. Do yourself a favor and find another place to work. With the constant layoffs and senior management blocking off portions of the office to save money on utilities, I wouldn’t be surprised if this once great company shuts their doors forever before the end of the year. So many people are under paid and overworked while others in production roles do nothing to produce results and they get away with doing nothing but playing on their phones all day. Their parent company loses clients left and right and the entire company suffers because of the complete lack of leadership and experience at the parent company. 99% of the people here are miserable and hate their jobs. I have never worked in such a toxic environment and I’m so thankful I never have to go back there. You know it’s a huge red flag when top producers who have been with the company for years just stop showing up for work one day.....

Open your door, come out of your office and actually engage with your employees instead of being isolated and out of touch. Maybe then you wouldn’t be scratching your head on why your team never hits their goals.

I left the company not long ago because of a boss who spread a negative attitude around the department I was in. Gossiping, talking about other people’s personal issues , telling us we should get our resume out there because the team in qa I was on will probably be fired. Lots of blaming upper management from the 2 qa managers.

I worked at ARN for 15 years. The only reason I left is to spend more time with my family and go back to school. ARN (now CCS) has a culture that feels like family. People care about each other on a personal and professional level. Leadership invests in the development of their staff and helps the employees reach their goals. While the industry is challenging, it’s also very rewarding. You can gain skills in 1 year that can take a lifetime to achieve in other companies. It’s a people first culture with great teammates and thoughtful leaders. Everyone chips in to help and everyone collectively works for the greater good. Very proud to say I was a part of an ever evolving organization.

Staffing is a high pressure industry. If making calls, providing excellent customer interactions and consultive selling isn’t in your skill set, you probably won’t enjoy the work.

Poor upper-management. Lack of communication and extremely disorganized. Employees are treated like a number. Lack of holding employees accountable for their actions. Payroll issues abound. Changes are piece-mealed to employees via email and can change daily. No thinking things through prior to implementing new processes. IT support is an oxymoron, to say the least. Processes are antiquated and redundant. Work load is excessive. People come and go like a revolving door. Lack of appreciation of dedicated employees.

no professionalism, managers do not hold any privacy concerning what goes on with their employees, if you are a high biller it doesn't matter what that person does they will not be reprimanded and if so its a slap on the wrist.
If you do not have enough working nurses they will let you go no MATTER how long you have ben with them.

My recruiter, Sherri, is incredible. She checks on me every week and has looked out for any problems with my assignment or relocation. Others I have dealt with in the company are also excellent and I feel strongly supported, unlike some other companies I, uh, won't name. This is my first assignment with them, so I hope that the quality continues, and that I will be able to get assignments where and when I need them. Though that may seem out of a company's control, due to availability, I have seen that some companies don't search as thoroughly as others, as I have been told of assignments by one company when another has said there aren't in that area. Sherri got me where I needed to be at the time I needed it, and got me a very good contract that protects me well.

Other than the usual cons of travel nursing, the only negative I can think of is that the health care benefits are not great, though when I compared them to what I can buy privately they are no worse. That said, my past hospital jobs didn't have great health plans either. People I know always assume that those of us in the healthcare industry get better benefits because we are "connected." Alas, not so.
