private:aefactoryservice https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=384064 Oct 8th, 2023 12:00AM Open Open A&E Factory Services Technician Glen Burnie, MD Decent job depending on what you want to do It’s pretty generic work for decent pay. If all you want to do is just show up, do a job, keep your head down and collect a check, I’d say go for it. It is a very mechanical job. Really good for tinkerers who like to take things apart and put them back together again. There is also a sales aspect if you want to add a little bump to your check for renewing policies and selling appliance maintenance products like cleaners etc. Most of the other techs are pretty nice and very helpful. Sometimes depending on your job you may also get to use the company vehicle for minimal personal use. The days can be super long. The push to sell the aforementioned polices can be a bit stressful at times depending on your leadership team. There is little to no room for growth despite qualifications. The leadership team as a whole has a “boots never touch the trail” mentality. They quarterback from an office and don’t understand what goes on out in the field so even if you weren’t performing well they wouldn’t know how to fix it. They just point to top performers and say do what so and so does. This is also reflected in the SOP of what they expect you to do in customer’s homes. The reasoning is because they dont want to have to pay for damages caused by. neglectful techs but so much of the SOP is not practical. You will find a happy medium between what they expect and what is feasible to do. The leadership also sometimes has an air about them as if they are better than you which doesn’t feel the best. The dispatch team is hit or miss. If you get a good rapport with a specific member, lock it in, it will save you headache. Also remember when I said some of the team are good guys, yea some of them are also idiots and don’t be surprised if you get called in to cover some of their work or to hell them finish, of course as a reward for being productive because why else would you be gifted such a gift? Its not uncommon they expect you to go above and beyond the scope of you job with no additional pay or praise for doing so. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 3.0 4.0 1.0 2.0 4.0 1.0 3.0 384064 Open I ultimately left because I knew I was qualified for so much more and despite doing the work and having good numbers and wanting to advance there it was never going to be feasible. They looked at me with two heads when I said I had a degree and supervisory experience, despite that being clear as day on my resume. I also got frustrated from my supervisor not listening. I did everything asked of me with little to no pushback and wasn’t a handful to manage but when I have a concern I expect it to be listened to and addressed. I also asked about transfer opportunities and was being fed lies about it being looked into. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 2.0 Open Oct 9th, 2023 06:12AM Oct 9th, 2023 06:12AM A&E Factory Service

Work provided phone. Work provided van and company cards. Working with other technicians in field (when it happens). Approximately 80% of Northern fleet service vans are inoperable in one way or another, making it extremely difficult to have a smoothly running operation. Impossible to feel good about helping people/fixing appliances when your higher ups only care about sales and commission. Constant degradation when in office. "Banter" is almost never appropriate, racially loaded or misogynistic. Zero work life balance, but somehow you're encouraged to never take overtime while working overtime close to every day. Service ranges included Oregeon and Nevada. Unsafe work conditions not considered in the slightest. Profit to the company is bottom line and you know you're just an extremely replaceable number.
