The training program was minimal when I started and has improved significantly since then. Operations management is accommodating and listens to your feedback, before they were acquired by Takkion they understood that their technicians were their most important assets. If a problem would occur with payroll, the solution was remedied with an off cycle paycheck on or by the next day. The safety culture is excellent, trainers offer knowledge and insight into how best to approach each task and what to look for to ensure each worker is conducting work in a safe manner. Lean work periods in the industry were managed by paying employees who were benched a “bench rate”, allowing employees to maintain a cash flow while not on assignment.

After the merger with Takkion, there is little communication between departments, ie TP&L, GSS, Renew and Airway Services. Airway employees are transferred between companies within Takkion and without any notice, perdiem is suddenly cut with the only explanation after the fact being, “that’s the new policy going forward for this department”. Perdiem was also taken away from an employee who called in sick. The company over promises and under delivers in regards to their employees. Safety culture is a joke now, an employee is not seen by a physician for an injury, and is instead directed to an athletic trainer to assess you via video call. Basic “first aid” is applied and if the diagnosis’s isn’t reached they recommend you seek medical evaluation on your own. It’s a slimy tactic to protect the companies interests and avoid having to cover workers compensation. Lean work periods have devolved by telling the employee, there is no work right now. Hang in there, we’re working on it. However, they are no longer paying “bench rate” and are leaving their employees out to dry. All while paying to maintain the employees benefits, which they will recoup at a later date on future checks when you do return to work. There is no letter or layoff document sent to employees while benched, so applying for unemployment would be denied by the company. Management communication is near nonexistent after the Merger with Takkion.

You sold out Chase Hord! You gave up control of your company for money. You lost sight of the bigger picture, it’s not just about making money, it’s about bringing opportunities to people in a struggling economy, and offering them an opportunity to learn a trade. Further their experience and knowledge to advance and move within the industry laterally. Great care and effort was taken to retain employees and ensure they were given the best opportunity to succeed, but not anymore. Airway has failed their traveling work force.

Takkion bought airway and laid everyone off as soon as they took over also the other company they bought tp&l all them are trash every single one of them all tp&l got ran off site so you'll be in a endless cycle of training they also make promises they can't keep
