bad was the clicks and good was there was travelers there.

Studying the board for cases and prepping the work room with raps for trays. Running the QC's on all the autoclaves and sterilizer machines before cases get started. Learning all the cases was the best because you knew how to prep. Having an idea if what instruments would be used was half the battle. When the nurses there knew that you knew what to do, It made working a breeze for everyone. The hardest part of the job was cases closing at the same time especially when it was a heavy day of cases. But the best days was when the cases was just enough to keep you busy til lunch and you could be done before the end of the day.

Very stressful. Lack of teamwork as we were overstaffed however one or two people would actually get up and work. The others sat on their phones or looked at supermodels and guns or the stock market.

Great Job opportunity
|
I started working Alameda Hospital through a referral agency and within 6 months was hired directly by the hospital. My unit was challenging at first for me but with the support of my co-worker became a great place to be. I learned a lot and there was one special RN that really took me under her wing and guided me through any question she would help me with but she challenged me to process it and try to use my nursing skills to think it through first before she would just tell me the answer or what to do. This made me a better nurse than I would have ever been by her just telling me oh do this or its that.
My time at Alameda hospital sub-acute taught me so much and I am very thankful for the time I had working there.
