This was a company I could have retired from - but they found themselves having to eliminate several positions and mine was one of them - was that due to poor fiscal management or COVID, poor owner relations or ineffective long-term planning? Every company has pros and cons; I believe this company is one of the best and as a whole they do care about the residents and staff and letting us go was visibly difficult for them. The way they handled letting us go was less than stellar.

Everyone in management ! Poor communication, Very unorganized, pick and chose with residents. Only thing they are worried about is budget but we are always short staff, and never a helping hand in sight.

I would tell management, there needs to be more oversight from corporate in regards to the details of operations. Walkthroughs were not an accurate depiction of how the residence is run. On-site management was very reluctant to put rogue coworkers in their place and residents were admittedly afraid of some staff. The care for residents was almost burdensome to staff members due to the often understaffed residence. When problems arose, on site management was known to gossip openly and place the blame on one another. The families of residents weren't given boundaries to respect staff and inter-department strife was also a given working here. You will be expected to work whenever you are asked whether you're part time or full time, but asking for adequate compensation isn't a topic of conversation for management. They will claim an open door policy, but they will always be unavailable. And if you don't know the management before you begin working here, you can expect to be talked about and/or baited out of employment.
