Management is a joke. They pour out words of praise and promises but the action & follow through on anything is a fat zero. In the interview process I was hit with big expectations for the job but after about a week noticed it was all talk & no show.

Train wreck
|
While I was employed there the Executive Director was not doing well at managing the location. Directors in every department were leaving, as well as the frontline staff. The pay is criminal. Most positions are paying $10 and under. Luckily the candidates for my role were so bad, they had to raise the pay to be able to get a decent employee. For much of my time there (over half) I was doing two jobs. One of which was way more strenuous than the original role I signed on for, at no additional compensation. In short, this organization needs a serious overhaul to make it a place worth wanting to work for.

Working in a facility like this one as a CNA, MA, MT or Dining Service Associate is for an individual seeking to grow their experience, pay bills, and/or have the flexibility to attend school or work other jobs as well. This company is not one where you'd like to spend the majority of your full-time career, simply because Allegro values profits more than they do residents or staff. Complaints to management are rarely taken seriously and management is so non confrontational, some employees are left and sometimes even expected to manage by proxy, which causes tension among staff. This is a company where who you know will bring you greater success and job security than what you know. (ample "buddy hires")
The best part of working for the company are your day to day interactions with the residents and the occasional holiday gathering. Outside of that, you can expect to deal with frequently understaffed shifts and greater responsibility, absent of greater compensation.
