Excellent Company, but Prepare To Work HARD
|
This was an excellent company that I loved to work for, but hated what I did. This was merely due to being burnt out from sales at this time and at the end I knew it was not for me.
It is telephone sales, you make cold calls to company and identify debt and your job is to convince these companies to give you the debt and then Altus goes to work attempting to collect the debt. You only get paid if the debt is collected. Not as easy as it sounds as there are numerous companies that try this same thing. But it's sales, and it's on the telephone, so expect to be sitting most of the day. The better you do, the more money you make, and my office gave certain offices to people that earned them by doing excellent work. When you start out you retain none of your clients, they go to another person that manages them for you, but you still earn money on them if more debt is collected.
Honestly if you can hack it at this job and figure it out, this is a good place to go. They pay well and they are willing to help you succeed, but you are not always given the time you need to do so. You need to perform on their time frame, and if you go too long without making sales you will be let go. That all being said, this company was one i enjoyed greatly.

Fun place to work but you go to work! The only downfall is I came across was that you have to depend on the debtors to follow through with that “promise to pay” you negotiated with them to pay their debts so you can make a quota. Did you give you a Probation period of a few months but after a few

Poor Management and Hostile environment

Horrible place to work. Filled with gossip, nepotism, narcissistic coworkers. It’s a ghetto. Every Manager, Supervisors need to be evaluated they are not mentally stabled for the positions. They all work hard on keeping their dirty deeds from the new CEO. They hire people they personally know and there’s no drug testing. Complaints are a waste of time because the person whose running it is just as bad. It is a sunken ship. Do what you can to get out. If you are considering working for this horrid place please don’t

The job itself it stressful enough. Having to deal with unfair practices and verbal abuse from management is another devil!
You can have detailed records and audio recording of the day to day harrassment that employees deal with and human resources will do mothing about it! You are forced to deal with it or quit.

I appreciate the workload but position lacks growth and advancement.

I enjoy the position. They had me in a remote position that I excelled in. Company was acquired by an equity group and I had to go back to office. For amount of income the position doesn’t garner the cost of traveling to office each day. Management is positive and their system is efficient.

Worst place to work.

They barely give you any training. You always call the same old accounts and if you’re not the manager’s pet you ain’t going anywhere. Managers clearly have their favorites and give them big accounts that will help them with their quota. If you’re looking for a career this is not the place for you. They will promise you a big paycheck but make it almost impossible for you to get your quota.

Could leave early on Fridays if you had your 40 hrs.
