But the upper management, particularly the CAO and CEO, are abusive and demeaning. Most employees walk around in fear of “rocking the boat” so no one takes any risks. Things never change there because upper management is so threatened, that approvals take forever—so employees have just given up trying to improve systems that could easily be improved. Open up to new ideas. And stop demeaning employees. Your behavior is abusive. Employees walk around scared of you. Some good people there who care about their jobs or else they wouldn't be there for the low salaries. It is what YOU make it. Benefits are great. AFI has lost its direction. It is completely stuck in the 80's when it was probably in its prime. Nothing has changed from the reviews from 4 years ago. The school tries to create programs for donors and sponsors but its stale and behind the times. They hire people that either don't care or don't care to rock the boat with the "Senior Management Team" that have no clue. If you're passionate about the movie industry, then the events are a lot of fun to work and/or attend. Placing ads for IT professionals amongst others stating that AFI is a Nonprofit on a modest budget? Upper management seems to be immune from this modest budget as they are reeling in obscene 6 figure salaries. Work for the festival or the school, the rest is not worth it. It has a more corporate atmosphere than artistic. Not enough to aspire to, the company is afraid of change and offending anybody.
