CPV (Concentrated Photovoltaics) was a rough ride

CPV had the potential to add a significant new green/ environmentally friendly technology to the electrical energy grid. Some great people trying to negotiate a very difficult time competing against normal flat plate PV.
|
CPV was not in a position to compete with the rapidly improving costs of flat plate PV. VC funding was disappearing/ gone from the CPV space. Organization was somewhat fractured.

Start from scratch. Rethink the entire design. Build the product with cost in mind. Don't build a super efficient product and then try to remove cost from it. Dollar/watt or dollar/kwh (depending on who is your customer) is the only thing that matters.
