Down right INHUMANE how they handled COVID!
|
It's horrible for anyone to lose their job during this time but this company hit an all time low in my opinion. For knowing how hard it would be to get another job, during this pandemic, with many other people losing their jobs or businesses they decide to stick the knife in further and appeal unemployment! This is just inhumane and completely disgusts me. Please stay away from companies who treat people this way in a time of turmoil.
Also, Beware of the Finance Department Manager if you choose to get a job here anyway. She micro managed, belittled and expected you to do the work of 2 or 3 employees without being able to work any overtime.

"My God! What have I done?" comes to mind when starting work there
|
Where does one start with this company?
Work environment: inappropriate, unhealthy and borderline dangerous.
Corporate "offices" are in decrepit, pest infested and smelly trailers likely still releasing formaldehyde. Some offices do not have means of egress in case of a fire.
The parking lot is an unpaved field covered with crushed stone which turns into a pool of gray mud at the slightest rain. Try not to twist your ankles while avoiding the potholes. And make sure to have your eyes wide open so that you don't get ran over by a delivery truck or forklift on the way to the trailer.
Company culture: Friendly on the surface, cut-throat underneath.
Management rules by fear. This is not restricted to a few individuals but is a doctrine adopted from the top down. For example: HR will send a company wide email telling who has been fired and why they have been fired. This is nothing short of public shaming and only designed at instilling fear amongst employees.
They have a complete disregard of OSHA, environmental and basic public safety regulations. For instance, they let employees with motorcycles park their rides in the handicapped access aisle. Hot water dispensers for hot drinks are just placed on rickety chairs instead of proper pedestals. Plastic byproducts from manufacturing parts are not properly packaged in sealed containers and are littering the grounds, leaching their way into nature. Chemicals are being handled and disposed of inappropriately.
Production floor: a cleanroom? What is that? Although these devices are Class 1 and do not require sterilization, there is simply not enough precautions taken to avoid contact of particulates or pathogens with the final product. It would be good to remember that some devices come into direct contact with the patient's face.
Design controls are sloppy at best. Some design changes are made without proper impact assessment, validation and verification.
Managers are not in positions to help you develop your career and are simply task/work schedulers.
The management needs serious mentoring on human values and ethics

• The owner taps about being “lean” but the company is far from it. The plant is not set up with a true lean layout with true lean practices.

Only work here for a pay check until you find a real job. Poor facilities. Company has outgrown owners skills. Decent managers and supervisors resign due to lack of support. Low pay. If you drive by the site you will mistake it for a mushroom farm. Too cheap to put up a sign. Lots of backstabbing between managers and human resources.

Keep to yourself and trust no one. Get close to no one. If interviewing, ask about employee turnover.

It is an ok company but not for the long term
|
I am not paid a liveable wage. My job is very stressful and I have hardly any supervision. Communication is terrible between management and employees and causes many issues. Cross training is mandatory and the owners almost never associate with the non-management employees. We do bonus every quarter if there is enough money to do so.
