ApnoSystems is a start-up medical devices and consumer electronics business. We are focused on developing and commercializing life-saving wearable products based on intellectual property invented by Dr. Diego Delia, and exclusively licensed to ApnoSystems. ApnoSystems has offices in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Our pediatric wearable is one of a number of pulse-oximetry based products envisioned for development by ApnoSystems.
Our vision for our Pediatric Wearable:
The Apnosystems´ Pediatric wearable device is a life saving medical intervention that can cause a sleeping infant that has ceased breathing to stir, and resume breathing.
Premature, low birthweight babies, diagnosed airway obstruction babies, post-operative babies and those with congenital defects are at higher risk. Such infants may suffer critical situations during sleep resulting in temporary brain damage, permanent brain damage, or death. The device can also help to protect “Pierre Robin Sequence” babies and others with pathologies involving mandibular hypoplasia that are at risk of airway obstructions due to the location and structure of their tongue-anchoring tissue. If an airway obstruction results in low blood oxygen saturation, the device detects the hypoxia and provides an intervention stimulus.
Anesthesiologists agree: when a patient is in trouble the problem must be addressed in a matter of seconds or minutes. Our wearable is a device that acts automatically and within seconds. The device helps in three ways: by monitoring, intervening and gathering new and valuable data.
Other products are related to the Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and Drowsiness situations. We want to offer to the airplane companies our Flight Rest Guard device to be delivered to their Sleep Apnea passengers that don´t carry their CPAP masks to the flights.
Also we want to focus in Childhood Obesity and Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
