APS made certain guarantees about my job description and necessary schedule flexibility then proceeded to back track on just about everything. They also urine test some employees but not others based on ‘reasonable suspicion’ but some employees are given advance warning of a drug test. The call center is the worst, where the manager (owners son) sits above employees and barks about call volumes always needing more but never demonstrating effective leadership techniques beyond doling out orders. Decisions are made by various managers across different departments that often contradict each other. If you thrive in an environment where contradicting expectations change nigh daily, this is the place for you. Also accrued time off is a joke that makes taking paid time off almost impossible to use.

The company culture is somewhat relaxed but is currently undergoing change. The position you hold at APS will change your perception of the company. Sales assistants will not think it is as relaxed as a sales representative would. They pay also vary's on the position you hold as well as the knowledge they have on the position you hold.

My day starts at 8 with a meeting of our day previously and how to make today better. I've learned that you must press on no matter what. The management and co-workers are very nice and easy to get along with. The hardest part of this job is getting told No over and over.
