Because you are working with students directly a lot of requests come from various offices leading to being overworked
Leadership in the office is close minded about professional development opportunities
Could be better in terms of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Great place to work

Equity focused, hands-on training, supportive team environment, good pay, mentally stimulating. I truly loved everything about working here. The staff in the office care about students and want to do everything they can to ensure students have a positive, supportive experience. Staff members were empathetic and solution-focused, and they built a welcoming, collaborative work environment.

These are things I actually liked about working here, but some other people might consider them downsides. The office was extremely fast paced, and there was rarely a break in between students coming to the office for assistance. If you get overwhelmed by lots of new experiences all at once, a different position may be better for you. It was also a largely sedentary role, which would take a toll long term, so it may not suit someone who thrives in an active work environment.
