Everyone was passionate about the mission and shared ownership in making the company succeed. For years it was the best company I had ever worked for. Things changed dramatically when sales suddenly failed to meet targets - the company was growing and healthy, but the exponential growth they had expected hit its limit. A change in CEO followed by a dramatic rebranding brought the company to the crossroads, and senior management stopped listening to the people in the company or taking care of its people. What had been a great place to work was suddenly difficult and painful, and many people headed for the exits. The amazing culture was literally walking out the door. Those of us who were there during the good old days became very close and the friendships and camaraderie have carried over even as we have moved on in our careers. I still see old co-workers regularly - we miss what we had, but none of us harbor regrets about leaving. I worked with several people that I had worked with at a previous company. Everyone on the team pulled together to ensure that the customer service was exceptional. Groups meet very casually and just blend to work towards a mutually beneficial goal. Its very detail oriented and intense work but you don't mind because it always feels like you are working towards something better.
