It is a decent enough, attractive environment and employees act professionally
|
You are encouraged to sell or advise clients to purchase memberships. You don't make $40 an hour or $40 per person, it's 40% of the (discounted)membership yearly cost, divided into monthly increments, which amounts to a low salary unless you overwork yourself. You're also paid 40% of Groupon deals, which is awful and brings it down to around $20-something per massage. If you're young and have roommates, fine, but this is not a salary to care for a family.

There aren't many pros at all. Your books wil be filled, but with groupons and major discounts. So you will spend 8'hours making what you should be making in 2 hours.

Unethical and unorganized. Your guests will be 80% groupons, and if not groupon the in house discounts are just as bad. You will almost never get a full paying guests because this company does not value their employees or their education and cheapens their craft and business. You will almost always have a issue with your paycheck. Lastly, don't ever complain or suggest, your out the door.

Wonderful employees, stellar concierge, despicable management.

The employees and concierge are very personable and genuinely caring- they are the ones that make working at Asanda worthwhile. Everyone works really well with one another. Most of the clients are respectful and really value your expertise and suggestions you offer as a service provider. Also, the discount on products is 40-50% off for employees, so that's nice.
|
ALL of this company's problems stem from an unethical, disorganized, unreasonable and irrational management team (sans the hair department). Firstly, management openly practices and condones nepotism and favoritism with employees. Secondly, management and HR are the same so there is no third party mediation that you can bring any discrepancies to as an employee; in fact, many employees have been written up and fired for expressing suggestions and concerns to management. They are not capable of accepting constructive criticism and practicing effective team building. Thirdly, Asanda offers no benefits- besides tips (if you even get them), there is no health insurance, paid time off or state mandated sick days. In fact, management writes up employees that call out sick, even if it's the first time they call out. Fourthly, this company swindles you out of money; the money that you agree to on your wage agreement form is not what you will be getting paid and it will be significantly less per client. In addition, almost every week, if not every week, you will have to consult the comptroller for reimbursement for services that you have performed, and even that is a fight. Lastly and certainly not least, management allows and condones clients disrespecting and degrading you in front of other clients and will actually book you up for the entire day, without a lunch (or by removing your lunch), just to take additional clients and make extra money.
And a word to the wise, Asanda forces their employees to take clients with known communicable diseases, even if the client indicates to them that they have said diseases prior to the service being provided.

Respect your employees and value them- take constructive criticism and use it to fix the company, not to target the person making suggestions. Practice good sanitation and hygeniene- it's the law and can cost you your business if you continue not to comply. And lastly, listen to your clients. You say that you know what your clients want, so you should know that they constantly complain about your egregiously high turnover rate for the service providers within your company.
