They decided to restructure the team and let go of three of our staff members by saying it wasn't a "good fit" with no severance. The department is very unorganized. This is mainly a call center job. Hardly any training was given for this position. Poor management definitely plays a part in the stressful environment of this specific department as well. Those who pay attention can learn a lot about the traditional Music Industry and even more about the emerging Digital Business: where music is not a single product to be consumed (like a CD or mp3), but rather, a total envelope to be accessed (like streaming service that also blends into other entertainment media). Nice Employees. Wonderful staff and employees. With the exception of a few bad apples (which can exist in any company) the overall majority of ASCAP's staff always made me feel welcome and at home. Low opportunities for Advancement. (In my eyes) very little growth -- meaning, if they hire you as _____ Title / Position; Years later, you will still be in said role. While some staff did move upward (or laterally through other Depts), these instances were rare. It is quite refreshing to be surrounded by such talented individuals working at this company was horrific. my boss verbally and mentally abused me for months, he eventually started telling lies on me to get me to leave preemptively. Senior management has absolutely no representation filled with one particular type of people (read between the lines), they stress team building events that will occur on a Friday and proceed to walk past you like you are a diseased stranger the very next Monday. When creating a company culture those in senior management are very aware what it will take to create a nurturing environment for their employees. Do they want to do this? I don't think so. The archonic forces at this company are hard at work attempting to drain your energy and keep pertinent knowledge between the very few at the top.
