I've been here for about a year and it's honestly the best company I've ever worked for. While other positions I've held have felt like a "job", this truly feels like a career. From the very first day, expectations are set, so you know exactly what you will need to do to succeed.

I've been working for Ascentium Capital for nearly 2 years now and have to say it has been a great ride so far. I was previously self employed for nearly 10 years and was tired of having to rely on the inconsistencies and incompetence of my staff to determine my financial success. This career is the closest you can get to being self employed, without the headaches. They do not micromanage and as long as you follow their recipe for success and put in the time, you will be very successful. Management is incredibly supportive and is always looking for ways to drive business traffic to their sales reps. If you fail in this career, there is no one else to blame but yourself.

Not a great place to work

Cons.
There are so many to list. The culture is terrible, the sales reps are relentless and most of them are arrogant and self centered. The communication is unlike any other company I've ever been at, they advertise they promote from within but unless you are in sales there is no room for growth. There is no feedback and very little training for the role and you better be a quick learner or the reps will let you know it. The management is also poor, they are not looking for people in my position to stay long term at all.
Pros
Decent starting pay for the area. Nothing else i can list for positives.
Advice to Management
get a better grip on the sales reps, if you are in sales you are potential is unlimited. I would recommend better training and more support for those that work hard every day . A vast majority of the time it feels like we come in do our jobs and go home, there is no depth or life here. something needs to change.

My role is in Direct sales, making calls to lead database. Most leads are warm - previous inquiries, current & past clients, and occasionally cold calls. Also field inbound calls on a rotation. Goal is 60+ calls per day. Product is business loans-equipment & cash loans. Application process is very easy for both client & rep with quick turn around time.
Company is growing quickly, so that means there are some of the normal growing pains - procedures changing as situation dictates, new folks learning in the process, etc. It's a laid back environment, with the expectation that you will get your job done. Company provides lunch to all employees at the Kingwood/Corporate office on the last day of the month and a snack/treat on the 15th for birthdays.
Hardest part is being consistent in always making outbound calls to keep your sales pipeline full while juggling active deals. Keeping in mind that deals will die, get denied, etc.

The most difficult part of the job is holding yourself accountable for the work you need to do to be successful and managing the stress that comes along with any sales job at any business.

Ascentium Capital is a sales company at it's heart and soul . As a Vice President of Sales and having been in this industry for many years you get what you put into it . If you work hard ,you reap the rewards. Most of the negative reviews I read are from people that did not want to work. The work environment is one of an open door policy where you can present ideas or thoughts . It is a place where you want to come into work . The team and it's management are as good as they come. If you want to put the time in and make some real money then this is the place .
