None any more, since Penn Foster took over

When Penn Foster took over in February 2019, they initially told us they were planning to "grow both companies". Well, that turned out to be BS. They apparently told us that to keep people from jumping ship before PF had convinced them to do a brain dump of all their professional and institutional knowledge. The fired everyone in marketing and finance within two months, and have apparently started redirecting enrollments to the parent organization. Ashworth is slowly being digested by PF, and will probably not exist as anything but a call center servicing a continually shrinking pool of enrollments within a couple of years.

Working with a group of people who are generally kind, attentive, and intelligent is so rare. Even while experiencing office growing pains, this is such a refreshing environment overall. People on staff really do seem to want to make our product better, make our education better, offer something affordable to students, and just enjoy jobs that aren't overworking, micromanaging, and frustrating us. Some folks have worked here for 10, 15, 20+ years.

It's not perfect, of course, but it's still pretty great. Office is drab but we're looking to move. I'd rather work with good people in a beige office than with lazy, self-serving people in a hipster office. Goals can vary within departmental silos. Admissions/Student Services needs better wagest to combat turnover and lack of skills.

Admissions is our weakest link. We need to figure out how to fix that. We also need administrative assistance in most departments. No one has the job of organizing everything and maintaining things like departmental/employee phone lists, org charts, job titles. Everybody's got to figure out who does what and why on their own when they start.

I spent five years of my career working for Ashworth. During that time I was able to pick up some valuable skills which led to a senior management position, in addition to the technical competencies I acquired.

Only con was the number of legacy applications that needed maintaining. While it wasn't a large number, the small number of applications did require a fair amount of attention.
