Beautiful building, many kind and hard working staff members (especially managers!) friendly donors, wonderful mission, fun events (Night Market for sure!), great clientele, and fun staff activities! Pondi cafe is pretty good too!

Disorganized and poor communication. Files are scattered everywhere, poor training, sometimes there’s micromanagement, sometimes there’s tension over petty stuff (especially between mid and lower staff and directors), outdated technology, not open to new ideas, and finally Marketing. I feel like we could save more with mailing and can do better on social media. Another thing is the language for promotion. Everyone has ideas (which is fine) and want those changes to happen but that responsibility should be left to the marketing team. Also, performing duties above pay grade and low growth opportunities. This place has many flaws but its manageable for a new non profit.

Working at a place that isn't New York-focused, or even US-focused but has a global view and a large community is a real plus. They approach problems and find solutions with a real focus on exploring issues from a myriad of perspectives. They also have a lot of influence from decades of being a reputable and level-headed institution.

Changing board members and senior staff often left gaps in leadership and company direction. The pay is low, but ok for a non-profit. There isn't much room for advancement.
