Practical, Compassionate Leadership
Our leaders have been terrific throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. They have allowed us to work from home and have offered flexibility to deal with kids in school and other caregiving responsibilities. They trust and support employees so I feel I can do my best work and take risks as needed. I enjoy the autonomy I have over my work and the collaboration with other employees. Strong benefits package and good 401(k) match.
Like many non-profits, the organization is facing some financial challenges since they've had to cancel their live events this year. They had to do some layoffs, though they treated everyone very respectfully and made it clear that it was not due to performance.

Changes necessary but rough
Great location and great team players. New CEO (3 + years) has a vision that will bring association into the current century. Lots of programs and directions went sideways and (mostly) new employees are now trying to right size. Great members who truly care.
Lots of changes, which are good and needed. This has added sense of urgency and stress. But we’re getting there.

Downward Spiral Continues
The members are some of the finest people on the planet.
Members deserve better. The organization began a rapid decline after CEO O’Neil conned the organization into believing he knew what he was doing. The stress and chaos referred to by other reviewers comes directly from the top - or bottom...depending on your point of view.

To the Board: Everyone wonders whether you are inept or dishonest as you turn a blind eye. To the Management (or lack thereof): Shame on you. Time to move on to before you are no longer able to explain the organization’s decline.

Good company, stressful times
People care, good CEO - some other management could use a bit of work. They try.
Everything is too urgent and stressful. Not enough innovation or strategy being driven.

Not bad.
Great benefits. Great colleagues. Good work-life balance.
Little growth. Bureaucratic. Too top-down. Attention to trivial details.

Test new things and adapt. Stop rewarding people who boast the most or "work" the most hours. Instead reward the people who are effective without ostentation.

My brief stint at ASIS
Pay is average, but benefits are above par with other non profits
I worked with this association for 3 months , after which i was laid off for no apparent reason. The environment is volatile and turnover rate is high. A lot of people apparently dont know what they are supposed to be doing. Not an environment for someone with real ambitions. Your job could be terminated anytime. I literally begged my supervisor for more work to be assigned to me. After 3 months i was fired and reference was made to my i month progress report. I had a one on one meeting with my supervisor and by my 3rd month, i had accomplished over 90% of my goals and i wanted more work, but i was never given the opportunity to prove myself.
