Don't work here if you want to have a work/ life balance. Management has no idea what is happening on the floor 90% of the time yet bully the staff. They have their favorites so the people that are working the hardest never get any recognition. The culture of the community is very cliquey and everyone is always talking about everyone else. It is an extremely toxic environment and no one is happy. You get forced overtime and if you can't make it due to child care, a death in the family, sickness or school you will be penalized. That being said, people stay for the benefits and for the animals. You are doing great work even if you don't like the people you are working with and you also see a lot of things you wouldn't normally see at other clinics.

Very stressful but rewarding
|
I left because the schedules were too variable and did not fit my life style anymore. The call center was very busy and very demanding go the point I started experiencing health issues due to the stress (including waking up at night with taquicardia and anxiety).
Those symptoms dissapeared immediately after I quit. They need to be more realistic about scheduling and who really gets affected by abrupt changes very month.

Management was fair,coworkers friendly,pay rates was fair,how they dealt with the public in finding homes for the animals, having free spading and nutering for anyone who wanted it while giving free food and dog and cat supplies for people who couldn’t afford to do it themselves but the chances for advancement was slim and raises were far and in between
