As expected climbing and trimming trees isn't for everyone, although I loved the comradery and work itself. If your not in shape this job will get you there, pack a big lunch you'll want it. the pay just isnt enough for the amount of hazard/labor.

The only real part of this job i didn't like that I can remember was the horse flies in the woods and carrying the heavy harness mounted saw through uncut paths in the woods. But overall not a bad job, especially if you like the outdoors

Awful work environment and terrible managed company
|
Desperate need for a job.. you've found your place. No respect for workers and their personal time, management constantly lies and doesn't tell employees the full basis of job procedures, rules and expectations. No guideline or stipulation in safety for employees. Just basic information and then thrown right into the fire of work with power lines and very large trees. Very family oriented. The managers will hire just about anyone but the only ones to truly have a chance of moving up, have some type of family tie. If at all possible.. STAY AWAY!

Fun but dangerous
|
Very physical work! From ground work, chipping brush and climbing trees. It’s powerline clearance tree trimming. High-voltage is unforgiving! You have to be on your toes every second of the day and watch out for one another or people get injured or die! The public is notorious for trying to cut through your work zone no matter how well you have the job site secured. Again… you have to be on your toes watching out for everyone! You also have to be ready to roll during storms 24/7.

To alot of the general foremans and other higher ups ur just a number to them and dont realy care about ya some gfs are pretty good and they try to tae care of ya but theres barely any time to work on LCQS books to get moved up and barely any place to move around to different crews unless ur on a chip truck
