Health/dental benefits were average but no complaints. 403B retirement plan was very good. Shut down for holidays was nice. Summer hours were great. No direction given at any level. Executive leadership makes plans but managers have no idea how to execute so mostly people do next to nothing all day. Staff will try to make it look like they're working by sending emails, doing menial tasks, or pretending that any minimum output was a major achievement but they are just trying to go unnoticed and collect a paycheck. On another note, onboarding is a complete joke. Not led by the new employee's manager. New employees meet for extended periods of time with people they will almost never interact with on their job. Meanwhile, they learn nothing about the everyday things they need. Its like every new employee starts from scratch as if nobody came before them. They've implemented newer ideas like work from home and dress for your day, and they are good at being transparent about what is going on with the company. There are some really phenomonal people working there who go above and beyond what they need to and keep the company going. You see a lot of departments let go or lose really hard working people because they don't credit or compensate them as they should, and they keep those who are less competent due to knowing them personally or longer. Job descriptions need a lot of work, and they really get you with "other duties as assigned." I appreciate the recent direct communications coming from top-level leadership addressing current issues (coronavirus, remote work, strategic initiatives, etc). The people here are easy to work with and highly supportive. I trust my manager and my peers. To highlight some of my favorite benefits we have summer hours (leaving at noon on Fridays), a holiday shutdown between Christmas and New Years and happy hours! Hard working, knowledgeable employees are many times pushed away from teams due to being a threat to staff in those groups. Scrum Process being used for operational teams that shouldn’t be used; constant finger pointing, halts productivity and increases staff workload to unmanageable levels which results in burn out. Compensation way below average. Relaxed, low-pressure work environment. Some super coworkers and the members are decent too. Good opportunity to learn about quality processes and projects, which can be beneficial for your post-ASQ career. If you are in the right department, you may have the opportunity to work on cross-functional teams to learn new things and meet people outside your department. A lot of the other reviews hit the nail on the head. ASQ does NOT practice what they preach. Constant "transformation" aka reorg with no long-term plan and very little communication. ASQ promotes many quality and change tools to its members but uses almost none to navigate its own "transformation." Overall, weak leadership. Few managers have quality certifications beyond a CQIA. Little mentoring from managers to their direct reports. If you get a certification, don't expect to get promoted or use it at ASQ. Getting them to pay for a test they administer and is supposed to be free to employee can be extremely difficult. Lots of turning a blind eye to people running their side hustles during work time using ASQ resources.
