private:assetinternational https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=772497 Jun 2nd, 2017 12:00AM Open Open Asset International United States USA Poor Management -Toxic Environment with a Revolving Door Used to have great management and a wonderful place to work. New management has created an environment of fear and instability. No product development, poor management, equity owners trying to grow company through poor acquisitions. Top management has gotten big bonuses at the expense of long term employees. Layoffs are constant and culture is very divided. Top management even hires at the executive level and its still a revolving door. No motivation for employees as everyone is in constant fear of being fired. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 6.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 772497 Open Get rid of Joel and his goons. private:assetinternational https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=772497 Jul 18th, 2016 12:00AM Open Open Asset International United States USA Management's Dangerous Disease Compensation is fair; products enjoy strong reputations; some long-standing employees (although a fair number recently departed) know their businesses and are good partners. Management, management, management...and management. See below. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 8.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 772497 Open Management suffers from the most dangerous of diseases: The combination of arrogance (about their own skills) and ignorance (about some of the businesses they manage). Cue: turmoil. Management is tone-deaf when delivering their messages, if they deliver them at all. Communication is lacking. When things are communicated, they are often sixty-minute monologues, with forty-five minutes dedicated to unrelated bragging about past management successes or grandiose future plans. The day-to-day concerns of those who build and maintain the products are glossed over, or ignored entirely. Management often uses threats, rather than persuasion, to achieve their goals. An internet search of the CEO will reveal he has, in the past, been accused of forcing staff to sign restrictive non-competes and then firing them (From Forbes: “[Joel] Mandelbaum, says this source, promised there would be no layoffs for a year but required all employees to sign a noncompete clause. After they all complied, the source says, the firings started,”). What's old is new again, apparently. On the positive side, compensation is fair, and management has inherited, or purchased, products with strong reputations. Strategic Insight, the bedrock of the company, enjoys almost cult-like status among its clients. The recent acquisiton of Market Metrics has also been applauded by customers. The media brands, although in a “boring” sector, are well regarded. The question is whether management can enhance these reputations, or detract from them. The year of their reign suggests the latter. Long-story-short: Anyone considering joining this company, especially at a senior level, should be wary. As one long-time employee said, "These people will only do the right thing if forced to". Be fully aware of what you're getting into before you join, because once you're there, it will be nearly impossible to change. 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 0.0 Jan 7th, 2021 09:25PM Jan 7th, 2021 09:25PM Asset International Financials General Financial
private:assetinternational https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=772497 Apr 6th, 2016 12:00AM Open Open Asset International New York, NY Various Companies under the Asset International company Good benefits Flexibility in telecommuting There are some really nice, really smart people I learned a lot and was treated well by most people Although the company is Asset International, they operated as separate companies. There was no united email system or network to save and share files among the various groups. It was also difficult to know who was who and what the various units did. I worked first for 1 company and was then assigned to another so I knew a lot about what the 1st company did and could cross-sell and refer colleagues to resources that were available there. I never did learn all of the products for the 2nd company. No organizational chart so it was hard to know who was who and who to contact with questions. There are going through transitions with new management so I wouldn't recommend them at this time, but hope to recommend them again in the future. -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 0.0 NO_OPINION 3.0 3.0 4.0 4.0 3.0 3.0 3.0 772497 Open Have a unified system for emails and files (if possible). I'd also suggest that there be a oerson or team to work on keeping all employees updated and to have a master product/service book available on the employee intranet that describes all of the products and services offered, who to contact, etc. Long ago, I had suggested that they have a monthly Lunch Webex for employees. Each month a different product/service could be described, shown and discussed using Webex. I still think it's a good idea. Also an organizational chart should be available 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 9.0 Jan 7th, 2021 09:25PM Jan 7th, 2021 09:25PM Asset International Financials General Financial

private:assetinternational https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=772497 Jan 20th, 2016 12:00AM Open Open Asset International New York, NY Was a great place to work Entrepreneurial environment. If your willing to roll up your sleeves and get working and move business forward, you can achieve much at AI. Pay is fair, benefits are good. Working hours flexible. New Management. Old management had issues ( lacking centralized operation to make good decisions based on employee feedback, was very much a boys club, if you were male and golfed, you were in). New management gives great speeches about inclusion and then does exactly what it wants. Hires only people from previous company. Has expressed to employees that we were bad hires. Contentious atmosphere. No longer a fun place to work. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 1.0 APPROVE 5.0 4.0 4.0 3.0 3.0 3.0 1.0 772497 Open Old Mgmt - Good luck! Your old employees miss you. It's very fragmented as their are lots of little companies within the overall company, or the positions can vary within a company so greatly that you barely know your coworkers and/or who talk to about the direction of the company. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 4.0 4.0 4.0 4.0 4.0 3.0 772497 Open Have better practices put in place for bringing the office together and make it clear what the structure is so everyone knows their role 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 0.0 Jan 7th, 2021 09:25PM Jan 7th, 2021 09:25PM Asset International Financials General Financial
