It treats employees exceptionally well, valuing hard work and all ideas. There is very little micromanagement - everyone is given the authority to perform their job as they see fit, setting their own schedules. As long as goals are met, the "how" is left up them. The culture is one of teamwork where all employees are expected to be part of the company team, which removes the us vs. them atmosphere between departments that you find at other companies. First, our leadership and employees are smart, experienced, hard-working and extremely Customer-focused. Neither employees nor Customers are viewed as a "number". We truly care. Next, our software has been refined over the past 25 years and is very well thought out. We have a range of Customers, from small single-site companies to large multinationals with thousands and thousands of employees accessing our software. Many of these Customers have been with us for over ten and fifteen years which speaks volumes to the adaptability of the software and our perseverance and dedication to our Customers. Last, is our corporate culture where the Customer is always first but our employees are a very close second. Work-life balance is spectacular and we are truly treated like family. Considered a small business in the industry but far and away the best enterprise-grade QMS solution. My marketing job easy to do because the product does what is says and there is no smoke and mirrors. This company truly values and listens to our customers and improves the software through customer feedback. Excellent company culture that values the balance between commitment and hard work as well as life balance. Excellent leadership team. This is a virtual company that hires the best employees and lets them work from where they are. Despite not being centralized, there are open lines of communication and a staff with long-term tenure that know the product inside and out. There is no place for ego here - check it at the door. Benefits and PTO are comparable to other companies in this space. Every individual in the company is pulling in the same direction and that is the success of our Customers. I feel like everyone in the company supports me and I believe that feeling is mutual. We fully respect the work/life balance from the top down. Our leader, Tamar June, is a very bright, driven and compassionate individual. She sets the tone and I would follow her anywhere. I've worked for large public companies and what I especially like about AssurX is that we're privately held and don't need to make stupid decisions at the end of each quarter to try to satisfy bold promises we've made to shareholders. Rather, we do what's right for our Customers with every decision we make. This goes both ways. We're mostly a virtual company. The positive is that we attract and retain the best talent available - regardless of geographic location. Everyone brings something unique to the collective table of skills and we all work collaboratively to ensure that every customers needs are met. Management is committed to using each unique skill-set to help each employee grow and assist in their professional development. A management team who is genuinely concerned with both employees and the satisfaction of our customers. Since both are critical to any company's success, employee satisfaction then translates to customer satisfaction. There is virtually no turnover. An explicit, detailed internal quality process allowing issue resolution (both internal and from customers) allowing us to ensure that our products and procedures meet and exceed customer needs and employee growth. This helps ensure that everyone within the company knows what is expected of them and to develop their talent to be able to meet those expectations. This also ensures that customer audits of our company meet their requirements. All of which ensures stability in both company viability and stability. Open communication allows us to directly approach any necessary internal resource, no matter the level of that individual in the corporate hierarchy. Incredible commitment to work-life balance. As with any small company, upward mobility is somewhat limited, as there are only so many options. Sometimes we take too much of a conservative approach to risk. Collaborative approach with customers. (Many of whom have been customers for 8, 9, 10 + years. Customer satisfaction and retention rate is VERY high). Actively encourages input from customers and staff for improvement ideas. Genuine concern from management on employees' well-being. Employees given latitude to make their own best-judgement decisions. Essentially, everyone rows in the same direction, with a focus on doing right by the customer. Even when the customer is "wrong", and it costs to maintain their satisfaction, I've seen management being more than generous in doing "whatever it takes" to keep the customer happy, and the company's stature in the marketplace intact. Haven't figured out why the company isn't multiple times larger than it is. It really should be based on both an excellent product and Professional Services group; a workforce that is very committed to the success of customer implementations of CATSWeb, (its core product); a management team that is hugely supportive of both employees and customers, and who are nimble enough to change strategy pretty quickly in response to changing business circumstances. Perhaps one area that may be holding it back is a conservative approach to risk, (which may even be described as risk-averse in certain areas); which actually serves it well in many respects, (very stable financially), but may somewhat stifle revenue growth.
