Fun place but it wasn't a good fit for me. The co-workers were the best part as they were all college students like me. The benefits we're decent if you are good at the job but it takes a long time for advancement and there can be some favoritism.

A typical day at work as a relation specialist is to talk and deal with people who give their time and sometimes money to ASU. Can be rough with certiain associates of the school or program but overall as a whole they are good people and a lot of the management toys not to impose on us and let us do our jobs and feel comfortable. Hardest part of the job is dealing with the minority of not excited or even interested prospects and rules of the job But the student atmosphere makes it easier. As of 2017

|
on a typical day I would take around 200-400 outbound calls. We would call ASU alumni to try to get donations for different programs within the school. Most of the people we contacted were not happy about being called, but it was extremely good experience and if you can succeed at this job, I believe you will be able to excel in most sales environments as well.

You'll be forced to work with a student coordinator that tries to have intercourse with younger girls working in the office, managers that sexually harass male employees, and other managers that use derogatory terms to describe employees. When brought up to management, these problems don't stop.

While working as a front desk assistant with the ASU Foundation I would arrive first to open up the office and perform daily tasks to make sure the office was running efficiently. I would report to the business/office manager and complete any special projects they had while also running errands for the Director's of the office. I had two other front desk assistants that would report to me to gather their assignments for the day. Although I had many daily duties to complete, the most difficult part of the job was trying to find projects to fill any free time during the day. The most enjoyable part of my job was seeing the significant impact we had on the ASU campus. It is incredibly rewarding to be on a campus where you can see the results of the hard work being put in.
