Both good and bad
|
I've worked for Asurion for 4 months. The normal training is 10 weeks but for whatever reason they decided to cut it down to 4 wks. Then after our training was complete they decided to go up to 6 wks of training. Obviously they realized 4 wks wasn't good enough. After the 4 wks training I still felt lost. Certain tools you don't get trained on at all and others its not full training. With the short training you only get a couple days of actual training on the phones but they expect ridiculous quotas to met. Everything from how many sales offers you make to how short each call should be.
You do have the added pressure of someone listening to every single call you get. Having severe anxiety, this is very hard to deal with.
If you're customer oriented and actually want to help callers, you have to change you way of thinking because you're not paid to actually help the customer. You are paid to sell and if you do help it's simply a bonus for you and the customer.
They are not very good at helping you the rep, with tech issues. I spent several days waiting for IT to help me fix an issue with my system and couldn't take calls but my numbers were driven down bad not because of anything I did but because IT took so long keeping me from doing my job. It took me a long time to get back up to acceptable numbers by company standards.
Culture is great, coaches are great, benefits are expensive but good, pay is good, working from home is great, vto is good.

Wah, benefits, Vto, Pay, Coaches, and culture

Poor training, poor IT, quotas are rediculous, high stress, always watched

Good company. Provides feedback and support.
You are busy. Dealing with variety of customers. Policy changes occur and you have to stay current with that.

Great health benefits
|
The training was virtual and it did not prepare me for my job at all. The training team was delightful but supervisor was awful. The hardest part of my job was being told one thing then it changed the same day or the next day making it hard to perform my job. I did not get a chance to really meet with management at the time so I have no opinion on their leadership.

- I always try to keep a positive attitude to show how much I enjoy my job. Every day I come to work with a smile on my face.
- I am constantly congratulating others on their successes. When others need encouragement, I try and motivate them to keep improving.
- I try to keep an even demeanor through both good times and bad. My constant energy helps others keep their “enthusiasm”—both positive and negative.

I was laid off without notice
|
High turnover rate. Working remotely with Asurion was nothing but stressful. The benefits and pay was good at first but it didn’t last or make up for the rest. They tell you they will be there for you if you need help once you’re out of training, but that’s not true, you’re alone afterwards. I had 5 different coaches in 7 months. Your coaches don’t respond to messages when you really need them and they won’t reach out to you. No communication whatsoever until sales quotas are increasing and they need everyone to start making more sales. The coaches are foaming from the mouth for sales. The equipment they provide their WFH employees is a joke. They mail old, used Google Chromebooks that ARE NOT compatible with the system and software, but you’re required to work on them. So CONSTANT system issues. If you were having a system issue that you’re not capable of fixing yourself you were then told to contact a help desk department to get further assistance. That’s what I did when I had a system issue that I could not resolve myself. At this point I had 4 replacement laptops mailed to me and so many other issues with their equipment and software that I lost count. Through the helpdesk department my issue was notated and escalated (to another IT department) then I was told to wait to be contacted by that department to further remotely assist via phone call. I was never contacted. I made sure to continuously call them to let them know that I was still experiencing system issues and was waiting to be assisted and I would get the same script “Your issue is still in our system so you’ll just have to keep your line open, they will be reaching out to you shortly.” The following week I was still experiencing issues and still had not been contacted.. instead of receiving any help I was taken off of my work schedule and Asurion overnighted me a return box for all of their equipment.

Well-steered company by the very top but trickle down with strong nepotism from SVPs
|
stable business/job security due to clever steering on top
averagely paid/good benefits + bonus
good place to start career for technical/hands on work
good life/work balance with lots of flexibility
strong favoritism/nepotism from SVPs down to directors
|
stable business/job security; good life/work balance
|
poor management from SVPs down with too much favoritism/allegiance play

Your typical corporate gulag
|
Got this job to leave a highly stressful sales job. It started out as a nice chill job but as the company grew, the workload and stress level increased exponentially, eventually becoming the same corporate nightmare that I wanted to run away from. It was not all bad, even though first line managers are basically clueless, played favorites all the time, rewarded mediocre agents with perks and support from them was virtually non-existent, the pay and benefits were pretty decent.

Great environment. Very diverse. Pay is good
|
Company is great to work for if you're not the type that likes to move around. Pay is worth it, just have to find your niche and everything else will work out.

Terrible Communication
|
Easy job if you know what you are doing. If not they will train anyone. Terrible communication between employees and upper management. You can never get answers and usually just get shuffled from department to department.
